MATURE Buck Movement Oct 1 - Dec 1 - YOUR Experience?

In the areas I hunt, Nov 5-7 are the best. The first does are coming into estrous and the bucks are in major chase mode. After that most of the bucks I see are with a doe. We continue to hunt hoping to catch a mature one between does. I use most of October to observe movement and pick up a...

    Broadheads

I've been using Slick Trick Magnums for a few years now and have great luck with them. They've proven themselves on many deer and a bear. I'm getting ready for antelope in Wyoming and have been shooting them at 60 yards and see very little if any difference between them and field points.

    Sitka Camo

Good stuff but overpriced. I've had better luck with Gray Wolf Woolens clothing (also not cheap but a much higher perceived value). I do have the older Sitka gear, new stuff may be better....

    Brassicas

I planted PTT's, DE rape, and GH forage radishes last Sunday. For some reason southern Warren county is just not getting rain. I live in northern Warren and have had several nice showers.... How long can the seed survive without rain and need replanting or replacing with something else like...

Am I close to being right?

Thanks Skip Brassica's probably around first week of August now and clover like you said. I did get my lime disced in for new clover plots, happy about that. I'm getting bulk fertilizer from Agriland FS in Indianola. Just tell them how much actual NPK you need and they will calculate how much...

Am I close to being right?

Ok, getting ready for brassica and a clover plots. In a week or so, I have approx 1.6 acres of brassica's going in. It consist of dwarf essex rape, purple top turnips, and GH radishes from Welter seeds. I'm planning on discing in 8 bags or urea (46-0-0) and 200 lbs of P&K. Soil has a decent...

Hey Justin, i'm also looking at the Bushnell No/Low Glow cameras. Let me know how you like them, especially on night pics. If they are as good as the members on ChasingGame say they are, i'll be picking up several.

    Corn and Fertilizer/Urea

A few weeks ago I no-tilled 2 acres of corn into bean ground and a grassy area (bean ground 2 years ago). Since I didn't incorporate any fertilizer or nitrogen at the time, can I still broadcast urea and or fertilizer now? I'd do it before a rain but want to make sure it would help the corn...

    Gray Wolf Woolens?

I've got the lined wolfskin bibs and the lined wool jacket. The wool is very nice but a little spendy. I picked it up from a friend thinning his hunting gear. The bibs are great for cutting the wind and laying underneath. Can't go wrong either way for sitting in a stand all day.

    Sitka Gear?

I have a bunch of the older stuff. Jackets, bibs, pants, under layers, vest, etc. I'm back to my Gray Wolf Woolens. I've heard that the newer Sitka is much better with the Goretex layer though. Mine is not windproof so isn't the greatest for long sits in a tree exposed to the elements.

    My Decoy Has Been Violated

My son and I went to one of our favorite turkey hotspots early Sunday morning. Finally, a sunny day without crazy winds to shake the blind. After sitting for 3 or so hours, we decided to sneak out and stretch our legs a bit. While coming back to the blind, we noticed 2 toms strutting in the...

    Rods for Double Bull Matrix

I've ordered rods from primos for various DB blinds and got them for the cost of shipping. I've also changed rods in one of my matrix's for the light weight ones. The cost on that was $50 bucks and it was worth it! Get the rods and don't mess with it.
