    Hen decoys

I picked up one of the DB mounted hens last year. Wild Intrigue out of Gregory, SD makes them. It's hard to beat the real thing.

    Double Bull's Great Customer Service

After leaving my Matrix out during heavy snow, one of the support rods snapped. Completely my fault, but the replacement rod from Double Bull was free. I paid a few bucks shipping and i'm back in business for turkey season.

    New camera project

[ QUOTE ] You better be careful or you will be building another one... then one more... and then just one more... very addicting! [/ QUOTE ] Very true, These 2 will make 4 and I still have 2 more p41's and 2 P32's waiting.

    New camera project

My son and I are building a couple new homebrews. I picked up a few cases from George Dean at the classic and we're using SSS boards with P41's. Other than a few very minor issues of countersinking the hole under the Fresnel and reversing the ribbon cable on the P41 hack, he's doing a great...

B-mobile, or pretty boy...any real difference

I picked up a B-Mobile yesterday at Sportsmens warehouse in Ankeny. Compared it to the pretty boy and they were close. The pretty boy was more realistic, but not by much. Each had its benefits. B-mobile went home with me because, it's more mobile, has the fan kit (which works great) and you...

    Question for homebrew

I'm glad I saw the msg by IB about BG2's not being available in the future. Will stick with the SSS as i've been very happy with that board.

    Nice buck pic

That is a beautiful buck! I'd love to see or get a pic of something like that in my hunting areas.

    Something new...

IowaBowTech Thanks for the flash tip. I just noticed one of my P41's flashing during the day. Too darn cold to care at the time, but now I can venture out tomorrow after work to change the flash options. Thanks again

    First Homebrew Pics

These are my first pics using a Sony P41 and a SSS board. So far, I'm very happy with the homebrews! I'm planning on moving the camera today to a small funnel by some standing beans I have left. Should get lots of pics if my batteries hold out in this wonderful weather we are having!

Batteries and Chargers for my Homebrews

I ordered some of the Sanyo but will probably get some of the powerex also. The charger I ordered will charge at different rates, discharge, etc. Thanks for the info guy!

Batteries and Chargers for my Homebrews

I've just completed 2 homebrews using SSS boards with P41's. They turned out great and now I want to get serious about batteries. I'm looking at using Sanyo 2700 Ma NiMH's or Powerex, same size. For a charger, the LaCrosse BC-900. Any comments or better suggestions?

    Mouth Calls

I used the Killer calls. You could even try the starter pack. The calls made me sound much better than i really am. 1 bird in SD and 2 in Iowa agree they sound realistic.

    Mouth Calls

Try these diaphrams. I think they are very easy to control and sound realistic. http://www.illusionsystems.com/

Local news puts carbon clothing to test.

I agree with Chris. Some of the areas that I hunt, deer are all directions from my stand. Just hunt the wind has got me busted many times. The only addition I added to my scent control regimen is a scentlok liner and a scentblocker jacket and pants. Very seldom am I noticed (unless I move...

Trouble with dry weather and new clover

it's hard not to disc it up. not sure where all the grass came from, but it's there now. I'll wait till end of july, then spray/disc/harrow/cultipack/plant/cultipack. This has been a very dry June for the Indianola area. My fault not getting the clover in sooner, it's that bowhunting turkey...

Trouble with dry weather and new clover

I planted Whitetail Institute clover approximately may 15. We've only had a few rains and the clover is doing very poorly. If it doesn't come around, does anyone have suggestions of what to replace it with for this fall? It's next to 6 acres of corn and soy beans. Maybe an annual like oats...

    Good Fall Plot Choice?

I currently plant RR corn and beans with about 2 acres of clover for a total of about 8 acres. I also have 2 great spots for "hunting" plots that I'm trying to decide what to plant in them. Deer move through these areas enroute to the larger mixed plot. I'm thinking about BFO's or similiar...
