I've been debating adding my 2 cents to this thread for a few days. I have a few minutes so what the hell.
Like the way things are going or not it is pretty obvious that it's not good for the over all future of hunters and hunting. That's especially true in a state like Iowa that has so...
What a joke. I don't expect most to tag the stands they leave out year after year anyway. Now if you can be held liable they surely won't, if they ever take the time to read the regs to know about it. Not like the CO's are going to be out there walking the woods checking on guys anyway.
Yes, but that was on a deer farm I believe. I'm pretty sure first case was documented in a wild deer in Iowa 2014 in Allamakee county.
I get it that ehd is ugly and in your face when it happens but it's from an insect bite and not transmitted deer to deer. It's nothing like cwd. Probably...
This bill is also way too complicated. It is just the foot in the door. If it passes it won’t be long until they're back to “clean up” the langue and open the flood gates.
Iowa is pretty much the “last best place” for quality whitetail deer hunting. Bills like this will surely put an end to...
I'm sorry but this is just not true. Insurance rates are figured by statistics. Live in an area that has a lot of deer claims and you'll pay a higher rate because of it. Deer strikes are a tiny fraction of insurance company payouts.
I don't know what the answer is as far as CWD but I think...
Not an attack. Just making my point. It's that time of year. How much do you think the average hunter is going to care about rifles, crossbows or hunting regs at all if they don't have any place to hunt?
I'm causally looking right now but not quite in the position where I feel comfortable popping for what I want. WTF does that have to do with it anyway? I don't have to have land to have a say in this. I'm the resident of the Iowa. I should and do have more say than a NR.
If bucks didn't...
Everytime I read the word "manage" I throw a up a tiny bit in the back of my mouth. None of these bills are about "management", conservation, the wise use of natural resources or feeding one self on wild game. They're about shooting big bucks.
The only reason any of these NRs own land here is...
I see the farm bureau lobby has registered against. I figured they would and I'm happy about that. Only one for is Jim Jenson's lobbyist. If they crack and approve this it's just another sign our legislators are for sale.
Curious to know if the Farm Bureau has an opinion on this subject and if they're going to weigh in. I'm sure they like the No CRP and the like stipulations but would think farmers wouldn't want the added competition from out state.
I decided not to wait on this one and emailed the entire house NRC. Not happy at all. I politely asked them to not even assign it to a sub if possible and to reject it all similar bills in the most definitive way possible.
Here's everyone's email.
