That's a heck of a Michigan deer. You earned it... I know how tough it can be out there. Are you a yooper or from that other, less interesting part of Michigan?
It's all the little bucks. They just can't quite figure out what's going on. I can remember when I was still a youngin'. Girls were driving me nuts years before I ever had a legitimate chance of getting laid.
Just got done with my search and shot em all. I spent a little more than I wanted, but really liked Diamond, Martin, and Quest bows... which were all right around $500... sometimes even a little less. The cheapest Bear bow isn't bad either. The Diamonds are nice cuz they come fully equipped.
Oh yeah! Should be a great weekend. Cold fronts all week north of us. Already seeing flocks, but I think more should make there way down south by the time this weekend rolls around. I'm hoping to fight the crowds on the Mississippi for those swarms of blue wings!
That's a really cool pic and really puts it into perspective.
My first deer was a bambi. Now when I see a fawn on the stand, I'm amazed that I was able to hold it together enough to hit such a small target area.
Wow! Camp looks beautiful. Are the bulls talking much? I'd think it should be right around primetime down there for bugling action.
Looking forward to seeing you standing over one of those AZ behemoths!
I agree... shoot them all now! I don't understand what the holdup is??? I don't care what kinda money the deer farms are gonna lose. Screw them! Irresponsible management. The only reason they're waiting until December is so they can still muster a couple more high-dollar canned hunts before...
Dang. That's a damn shame. This outbreak is really getting me worked up.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but does anyone know if the DNR or anyone else has released a map showing where most of the outbreaks are occurring?
Thanks for reporting the location of the find.
Couple of beasts right there. The brooks range and tundra of alaska was the prettiest place I've ever been. I've gotta get back there. Was it a fly-in?
Early to mid July is the best time to go salmon fishing on the lake. It's should still be pretty good the next couple weeks as they are approaching their spawning patterns, but they'll probably be taking you closer to shore. The fish probably wouldn't be tasting as good if that's the case...
This sucks. EHD wiped out up to 90% of the herd in parts of Montana last year.

I hope this is just a scare and that's all it is.
I think the date that the leftover tags went on sale has come and gone. There's still OTC tags left, but the better units available will have already been claimed.
14 is pretty good from what I know. I've got a friend that has hunted it. I think there have been a few fires there within the...

I scouted the area south of the power line pretty thoroughly, and I just told you the best spot. North of the power line, I'd love to set up right off of that field corner in that pinch point (41.364069, -92.999353). It would be a good approach from the lake, but I'm not...
I'm gonna hook u up... I'm never gonna end up sitting in these spots this year. I come from WI, where public land gets hammered. Here, public land is still damn good. Public doesn't get the credit that it deserves. During the bow seasons, I'd bet that the private gets hit harder than the...
