If you're planting for a landscape, just go to any good garden center and pick up some ornamental grasses. Or you can usually find a good retailer online and get a bunch of stolons for a lot cheaper. They'll spread, but they won't reseed.
I drove by a house in Ottumwa a few days ago that...
The stache lost some serious points in my book over the whole episode over the antlerless tag numbers.
I like that he went hunting. That's a good thing. It just would have made a lot more sense if he would've hunted a bit more average farm and taken a doe.
I just think it's a little...
I just got the Bushnell Excursion EX's for $160 and love them. Very clear. For another 100 bucks or so, I might have gotten Nikons... probably the Monarchs. Tried them both (with quite a few others) after quite a bit of research at Bass Pro.
I got the Excursions mostly based on clarity...
Lyon, thanks for the tip re: Sheels. I was really hoping to find CCI's.
Also, I have been reading that another issue with the Blackhorn powder is that the flash channel in the breech plug can often be too small, which doesn't allow enough spark to ignite the powder. This is apparently seen...
Maybe this website gives a better explanation:

You aren't supposed to use muzzleloader primers at all with this powder... rather, shotshell primers. I'm just having a hard time finding them.
Boyd, are the primers you have in stock for shotshells...
Based on discussions on recent threads, I decided to make the switch and ended up purchasing a jar of Blackhorn 209.
However, getting the right primers has been a challenge. Their website recommends using shotshell primers such as CCI 209m or Federal 209a (please see...
Spring or fall. Now would be good too. Save as much of the root system as you can. If you want to go a step further, amend the soil and throw some fert down with each one of the trees.
One thing to consider is that a lot of fruit trees have weak root systems, so they're typically grafted onto...
I did a quick search to find out if I could help you out. However, the 'Zone 6 Non-resident hunting zone' is not located at all within Keokuk County. Zones 5 and 7 cover Keokuk County.

Y'know, "tough season" is usually something you say after getting skunked for the year. I don't know if you noticed, but your pictures show you holding 2 huge deer.
Good info. Shooting at running deer is unethical...period. I've done it, and don't like doing it. When I moved to Iowa, I was very surprised to find that deer drives are the norm. Taking crackshots at running deer should not be the norm.
Same issue. I can see all pics fine at work, but at home some don't show up. I've figured out that it's the pics uploaded from a user's IW albums.
I run on Mozilla and run all of my updates. I don't get it, but have accepted it.
