It was relatively mild winter for deer in Minnesota. I think most survived, you always have a few the coyotes get, but overall it was cold at times, but not threatening to deer !

I don’t think any decent whitetail farm landowner in my area of Minnesota or Iowa would let you shed hunt. It’s definitely different by geography!
Maybe a farmer that doesn’t hunt, or a random by chance.
Rates have definitely changed. In one county in Minnesota, the rate was close to $250 before and now it’s $183. They won’t entice a lot of interest, as cash rents are $200-275 ?
This didn’t work in Western Iowa. They died. Could be the soil type? I’ll replace them with Plum & crab apple this spring.
My other tree rows , mixed oak, swamp white oak, spruce, and crab apple—95% survival !
