Also, bucket and sorghum attract honey bees around August, September, when nectar is not accessible as it is during the springtime. This is really important as food sources become somewhat scarce that time of year. Then golden rod becomes important.

We don’t seem to be picking up a lot of new deer, but we tend to be hoping and looking for new mature bucks. We have excellent habitat, very little pressure, lots of food. It will be very interesting to see what shakes out after the winter storm(s) in the next couple of weeks.

About 5 of us are fiends and have neighboring farms in Van Buren County. It seems we lost many of our mature bucks. Several were our best bucks. Overall numbers seem down considerably, also.

I have several that I’ve left in blinds all year. So far, cross my fingers, they haven’t been bothered by the weather or varmints. They come apart easily into two parts and are pretty easy to carry. Very comfortable and after 3-5 years, they remain quiet. Zero squeaking.
