agree with all except maybe 3000 acres. Yes giant farm is the best way to accomplish what you are speaking of but certain farms with certain layout and other factors can accomplish similar things. Example: Higgins Illinois farm is 100 acres. He's shot 3 200s on it now? Well, it's on an island...

Totally lost in the "data" is how many bucks would not be shot because folks are holding out because that in their ONE tag. That point has been noted repeatedly and is cited repeatedly from hunters in one buck states but seemingly intentionally ignored by those against it. This is not an issue...

All those things are factors. We dont have to guess or provide anecdotal data points about one buck tho. There are real life case studies (other states) to look at. It works!

Education and self regulation will not change the path we're on. Sorta like educating people on the dangers of speeding and not managing it thru laws and regulation. PS: I love the rut hunting ban idea! :)

Tall@wide nailed it. We need to make hunting harder. Differing thoughts on what that means but make no mistake about it we need some changes.

I've never heard of that. Interesting. Ive seen alot of crp farms come up for hunting leases as well.

Ya i think land should have an HEL designation to qualify. Or proximity to streams, creeks, etc.

Who are the main walnut buyers in Iowa? Im not talking about your favorite logger. Think the walnut tree Pablo Escobar. Direct exporters. Only a few I think. Not looking for middle men. Be nice to know for purposes of selling a handful of really high quality trees a year that I cut myself.

Road frontage? gravel or pavement? power at road? Water at road? Current zoning? Future master plan zoning? Flood Plain? Perk tests? proximity to any towns? mature tree species? That's a good start....

Got about 5,000 hardwoods coming and couple hundred fruit trees. Anyone want to help?!
