I tried cutting barrels in half a few years ago and putting the block up off the bottom so it showed out the top a little. Deer avoided them like the plague and the water in the bottom stunk so bad I couldn't get within 20 yards of them without gagging.
That's awesome. I'd like to have been a fly on the wall during those group meetings. I'd love to do something like that here and get something done. Hopefully it works out for them and they pass it.
Ha. Still use my 11/87 I bought almost 30 years ago with my first college financial aid check. Lol
Also Just finished cleaning my knight ml I bought in 03ish and put her back in the safe
After this season I’m willing to give up pretty much everything I have. Bow, cloths, stands, cams, drill, and anything else I’m forgetting that has to do with shooting a stupid deer.
Ditto. Almost to a tee.
Contemplated not going home this year for the first time in over 30 years. Oldest son has bball and work so he's pissed off at the world that he can't go but the youngest really wanted to still go, so him and I are heading back home. For me it basically came down to this...
I'm thinking about selling my 5 footer and going to a 7 footer now that I have a little bigger tractor but was worried about the same thing. I'd say let me know your thoughts on how your tractor handles it but that won't be for some time now.
I broke down bought a pair of crispi and they are well worth it. Best boot I’ve ever wore by far. Group I pheasant with out of the 11 guys all but 2 wear crispi.
You are spot on....
Listened to Higgins podcast on the way home from the farm last night and he spoke on the topic of drones and technology andI think he is right on. Starts off with drones and then goes into cell cams, etc, etc. "Make Sacrifices for the better good" This statement he makes...
Legalizing thermals is one of the worst things Iowa ever did. Ya, no doubt the most effective way to kill coyotes but the negatives far outweigh the positives as far as I'm concerned and it would really hard to change my mind. I could go on a 2 page rant that goes well beyond deer. 100% be on...
Everyone makes great arguements both ways. Its easy for me to agree with most all of you in some fashion but the for me the winning argument is Skips comment of "Death by 1000 cuts". It's not one particular thing alone that got us to our current situation and it's not one particular change that...
Makes it even harder to avoid when parcels keep getting divided up into smaller sections. Doesn't take much for a deer to run off someone's 20 acres even if it is good shot. Unfortunately not every deer tips over in sight. Frustrating for sure. I think everyone of us who owns land has the same...
