    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

I love this!!!!!! Few reasons why… 1) we don’t have to do what SD does & spends $500k on a bounty 2) I have begged people for years to shoot and trap. 10+ counties. Same with thermals. No one shows up to do it. Instead- I get hundreds every year that I shoot or trap myself & becomes a...

Thank YOU- see you at the Deer classic ….

Sunday is always slower. But…. Here’s the beauty of it…. Jake will post that on WHTL podcast so far more will be able to listen to that vs even a packed room. Seminars are great but the YouTube part will also be great back up to reach a lot more folks.

Deer to blame for poor timber quality?

This is insanity!!!!! Well managed timber can sustain large deer herds + fantastic oak regeneration or a well managed forest. I skimmed through this but this guy is a fool. One sided view with no open mind. Sure- a forest top ended & where junk has created a full canopy with no sunlight-...

    Soldiers who died in Kuwait

Ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation. They will forever be remembered. Thank you to all that served!!! We sit here fighting for issues at home or for things related to hunting while they fight true evils of this world.

Thank YOU- see you at the Deer classic ….

Thanks to all that showed!!! If u didn’t- it’ll be on WHTL podcast…. This was hard hitting. This wasn’t some fluff discussion where we danced around hard issues- we took them head on & hit em hard. For everyone else & for the future!!! Wasn’t about us- was about others, our resource & our...

Thermal Hunting Regulation Ideas, Poaching, all groups- SOLUTIONS!

3rd group bites the dust in 30 days. “You can’t catch guys”. Not at all accurate. This last one is probably the biggest poaching, theft & organized raping of our resource I’ve ever heard of. Busted. I can’t give too many details but u guys can stop this crap. I’ll post details when get...

Charity auction for 10 acres TSI - iowa sportsman’s club

Hey guys- those needing Tsi done …. Drake Lamb has been kind enough to donate a 10 acre job to the iowa sportsman’s club. I’ve done some cutting with Drake & these will be game changers on farm. Very likely will or could be a combo of crop tree release, bedding, cutting out junk…. A few...

    Who has the best switchgrass?

Found it. Looks like a great blend. Probably priced at a good mark up. Which- if u doing a smaller amount of acres- not a big deal. If doing a larger amount- better buying at bulk. The actual switch blends are great. A lot of cases I do like blends so u do fine on most soil types...

    Actual laws for mineral?

It is subjective & clearly I wouldn’t wanna take chances it’s “too close to where I hunt”. I do still put em out & put em so far off & do cover them. CO could likely weigh in on a particular situation. A subjective part that’s IRRELEVANT to this discussion… if I were a CO…. I’d be writing 0...

    Current state of farming/ag

I’ll keep this generic…. Farming, to SOME extent - is a good illustration of HUMAN NATURE & preparing for what might come ahead. Some do, some don’t. It has these boom & bust cycles that have always existed in some form. It could be related to weather or it could be commodity prices &...

    Alfalfa???

Get a local Blend there from a coop or seed dealer that knows that area, soil type & what does best. Worst case- find your pioneer dealer & they will sell u a bag. U kinda splitting hairs. I’d want a leafy grazing type if u can find a couple options like that.

    An Iowa bait question?

I do a few blends. Anything that looks like this with maybe 30% corn right now is fine. I think I pay like $400 a ton delivered for this. If u wanna do any combination with anilogics blend- u can as well. Gets u some ideas and options.
