    Hounds

I've seen it posted on here a few times. Coyote dogs or rabbit dogs etc. Ive seen some people wont stand for it and others say no big deal. Ive had trail cam pics the past couple years a couple times. It was always this time of year after the deer seasons. My thoughts was not to big of deal I...

    Osage orange trees

My farm sounds just like yours. It basically consists of locust, hedge/osage orange, cedars, elm, hackberry, walnut, and little bit of shingle oak, box elder, and cherry mixed in. The brush on ground level is thick with buck brush/coral berry, multi flora rose and honey suckle. Ive been...

    Farm Contract Recommendations

I have 30 acres tillable rented out. I am far from an expert and Im sure am missing/doing things wrong or could be better. I just had a lawyer write up an agreement with the things I wished for. Its pretty simple. I just made sure to include things like: I maintain the hunting rights, no cutting...

URGENT + EASY + TIME - THURSDAY, Capital, 2 bad bills!!!!

Ive never seen Trophy Bucks of Iowa take a stance on anything. They have such a following on social media, what appears to me to be way more than IBA and ISC. Their page can get a lot of engagement when they will post topic, but they remain neutral. They will post a topic or news on something...

Trying to Locate a Pole Barn Builder in Southern Iowa

I'd love to get something like that with living quarters. 30-40k seems a lot less than I expected

Trying to Locate a Pole Barn Builder in Southern Iowa

This sounds like a great price, especially with concrete floor and electric. How much more would it cost you think to have a small living quarters built inside it? Have any pictures of your building?

    Multi Flora Removal

1:4 mixture of tryclopyr and diesel. Worked incredibly well. Everything that I sprayed is completely dead, all gray and bone dry. The plan i have says specifically not to do this treatment between March and May.

    Multi Flora Removal

I'm hoping to get to work this weekend on a 6.2 acre cost share project working on removing mfr and honeysuckle. Doing basal bark spray on the mfr and cut on the honey suckle followed up with spraying the stump. I did 5 acres last winter. I've waited until the end of the week to try and get...

All Things Logging/Timber Harvest - Discussion

I have a couple questions for walnut. 1. Is there a certain diameter that they need before they would cut? 2. Is there a general minimum number trees that a logger would want before they would bother with it?

    Cedars vs pine vs spruce

They love to eat white pine needles when they are young. Will eat and rub on young ones like crazy. Great winter food for them and they love to just hang out in them when they start to get some size. They grow fast as well if protected.

    Shotgun hunting observation

I have two permission peices, hunted each close to 15 years. I ask permission every year. It wouldnt feel right to me to pull in to hunt having not asked for that current season.

    Shotgun hunting observation

The decline in access is a huge reason why I bought. I could see 5, 10 15, 20+ years from now if I want to keep hunting I need to own ground. I've lost several permission pieces, so buying became a priority. Another thing that I think needs addressed and is probably less likely to change is...

    24/25 Pheasant Season

Anyone have much luck this year now that the seasons about over? I usually make it out 2-4 times each year. Between couple ditches, one public place, and permission on some private. Christmas eve I went out to the ditch that usually has some birds I walk every year. Its about a 3 mile walk one...
