I like the added cover to the plots so I let it stand. I mow as low as I can about March and no till the beans. I only have a couple acres so I will mow 2-3 passes to shred everything. I am always surprised at how rapidly corn fodder breaks down.

That's a great story like so many great stories from his life. The lowest of lows and the highest of highs and all spent in the outdoors. I will truly miss him, he was so special.
