The only competition is between me and the best deer I can find. I don't post pics to social media or even show many friends. Its not that I'm not proud of my harvests, but I don't need anyone elses validation or approval. I don't hunt for likes, I hunt for me.

I've questioned the legitimacy of every deer harvest photo I've seen with him in it. Something just doesn't look right in every photo whether it be the deers head, forehead, ears, rack, color, etc. He was a taxidermist and I believe he fabricated the rack on every buck he "killed".

If any of you killers are interested in coming to my farm and tossing me a different perspective and ideas I maybe haven't thought of yet, I'd gladly do the same in return. For free. Hunters helping Hunters.

Excess Tag Season?!? So any leftover doe tag is good to use? Even an unfilled antlerless archery tag? I find it interesting that the only legal weapon is a rifle and that shotguns and muzzleloaders are not allowed.

One things for sure in my area, the mature buck numbers are down and the coyote numbers are up. Rutting activity was pretty decent as I witnessed plenty of cruising and chasing, but all 1-4yr olds. My fear is that neighboring hunters lower their standards, and start killing those 4 yr olds due...

I agree about the cell cams. I run a few and without question I noticed that some deer reacted to them in a negative way almost immediately while running them on the same trees and setups I have for years with regular cams. Its not a visual thing. They sense something for sure. Fingers...

Flash cams are the best. Only downfall is the battery consumption. And IMO, Red IR scares more deer than white flash. You won't change my mind.

Absolute Giant. I can't wait to see the full history/documentation of this deer! Making a jump so late in his life has to be a rarity. Congrats to all involved.
