    Bummer!

I think Sand was pretty good at Auditor, until the iowa republicans passed a law making the auditors job harder.

    Otter problems?

I know a guy that catches otters….if you’re close to the Boone area let me know and I’d be glad to give them a hard time. I’m also a licensed NWCO.

Before I get accused of being a liberal….I’m an independent voter. I do my own research and vote for whose views most align with my own. As an outdoorsman and an Iowa State employee, I can’t ignore all that the Iowa republicans have done to make my job worse, and what they’ve done to...

    Opening morning with CW

CW and I were up bright and early to pound some public here in central iowa this morning. There was a lot of gobbling around us, but nothing close enough to be excited about. We sat under the same tree we had luck under last year and at about 6:50 a bird gobbled and it seemed like he was heading...

    Retrieving game law

Completely respect private property, and I always try to contact landowners in this situation. But i don’t like the idea of being shit out of luck if it crosses property lines. IMO it’s a blatant waste of a resource to let it go to waste just because the local “herd manager” doesn’t want you to...

    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

I bet it would be fun as heck. Not arguing against that at all.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

I’m guessing it was a joke. Most coon pelts start going downhill when they start breeding in January and just get worse from there.

    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

I sold my coons for a $7 average. And I had 20 ish of them. Didn’t trap as much this fall due to family responsibilities. But feel free to come by and I’ll take your coons. I’m not opposed to free money….maybe I’m a democrat???? lol

    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

This tournament isn’t going to recruit any new trappers. Trappers are fur harvesters. I know guys that have a market for the carcasses and other parts of the animals. My “theory” is my opinion and nothing more. Just because I don’t want to blindly support the ISC doesn’t mean I’m wrong or right.

    Iowa sportsman’s club tournament

Not sure if that’s directed at me. But if so, trappers have fought negative perception for years…and have consistently lost opportunities across the country. I believe that these contests don’t do trappers or sportsmen any favors. Wasting thousands of dollars of coons is just that, wasteful...
