Huntingfool, Yes you need your tags ON you. I found out 1st hand last year. My deer tags seemed so flimsy I thought they would never hold up in my bill fold. I thought surely a game warden would understand this especially if they were in my truck. Needless to say the warden wasn't nearly as...

I also use 3 pins and that's only because of 3-D shooting. I really like those spot hoggs but have held off so far. Can you remove any of those pins? For me the thought of looking through 5 tightly grouped pins is the only draw back to the hogg. Oh and trying to explain to my wife why...
Hey fellas I haven't been on here much since last season. Lot's of hunnydoo's to get completed before opener. Anyone coming to the IBA shoot in Eldora this weekend? I'll be the one with the cutest little peewee shooter tagging along behind me! Good times!!
P.S. Hey spectr17 check your...
I've had my Golden Key Mirage drop on for a season now. And so far I love it. My arrow will not fall off, and it was easy to set up. It really tightened up my groups at 30 and 40yds. They also have excellent customer service. If it's broke they fix it, no questions.
Shedhunter8 Just wondering. With the good possibility of cwd being passed from muzzle contact or a contaminated food source. Why would you risk putting out a feeder that mighn't increase the chance of spreading this diesease. I like to find sheds also by I am not a big fan of the shed hunter...
Buckhunter Sorry this is so late but I've been busy chasing birds. I put the mirage on this year after sending the goldenkey shootout back. After I got the mirage I had a small problem with the lateral adjustment not staying tight. Turns out it was machined a touch to small. Anyway GK sent...
Bowmaker I shoot a compound but, I just got a couple osage orange fence posts. I love woodworking and archery. And the thought of combining the two really has me excited. I don't know if I could shoot a stick and string but taking an animal with a bow that you made would be awsome! I hope I...
Across my lap, release usually locked on. I've had deer come in fast but have never been foiled because I was reaching for my bow. I figure there's to many ways to miss a deer. And I just haven't wanted to add that one yet.
Last night I was out it was beautiful but very slow. Anyway about 4:30 I see a doe coming through the timber. Something didn't look right, and as she got closer I noticed something in her right ear. She came to about 35 yds and no kidding there's a yellow ear tag like cattle have in her...
Hard to say he's not a 300 pounder Winnie. Looks like he's already been caped out. Gorgeous animal, double brows AND double drops!!!! WOW! Thanks for the picture.
Horst, Big Timber is wright. The book by Toad is very interesting. And you just gotta read a book by a hunter named Toad!! Anyway it got me to try it this year. The neat thing is on very windy days when I don't want to rock in roll I can sneak through the corn. And I like it if I only...
191 I'm not trying to horn in on ya. Just wondering how close to Marshalltown you were? I hunt some ground north of Marshalltown aways but still in the county. It would be really neat to see one of those kitty's!!
My shorthair is almost as excited as I am. I've had roosters in my backyard giving her the rasberrys. Saturday will be payback time!! Hopefully I can fill my doe tag this week, then I won't feel so pressured. After this week I will head to my big buck area's in the evening.
Birds by...
Bonker: I had the same problem when I first started bow hunting. Alot of good advice has been given here. The noise, smell, and movement factors are all good possibilities of being spotted. In my opinion these can all be minimized by one thing. Move your stand back from the trails. Ten...
Man you have more patience then I do. I've given up on arrows in my back yard!! Usually after that my wife walks out and picks it up like it had been lying on the kitchen table.
When all else fails I call in the wife, she's my bird dog for lost arrows.
Luvtohunt this has happened to me the last two years on different pieces of land. The first year they logged in the summer and I shot a buck Nov. 5. The place was full of does that year and has only gotten better since. All those tops turned it into a bedding haven. I would agree with...
