    Albia Buck?

Hey spine, everytime the Albia buck comes up it seems to get real quite. The people who don't know anything ask questions and the one's down there, that do know something keep awful quite. I guess I can understand. If that deer was known as the Eldora buck, the only thing I'd say was, I saw...

    wind

That wind meant business today! I went out into the standing corn and tried to stalk one. First time trying that, snuck up on two roosters but no deer.......yet. I'm gonna try and get at least one that way this year. Anyway it seems like a good thing to do when my tree stand starts feeling...

    Climber vs. Standard Treestand

Joe Just my experience here but it seems to me the places with thick timber are the best for climbers. The trees don't have a chance to limb out because it's so thick. Unlike an open area like a pasture or park area, where you see all the tree's being very full of limbs. In four years of...

    Bachelor group

TLH- It didn't look like the big 12 had any velvet but a couple of the 8's looked like they did. I went around tonight and saw nothing but does. I wonder what it was about last night, maybe just luck. If only I would of had a camera.

    Bachelor group

I just saw an awsome bachelor group last night! Two real nice 8's and a monster 12 They were in the beans feeding. We watched them for about ten minutes just about the time we were going to leave. I saw another nice wide 8 come out of the timber as I started the vehicle up to go another...

    Climbing treestand preferences...

Muddy: I really like my API Grand Slam. I never feel unsafe and have yet to slip on a tree. This will be my fourth season in it. I haven't tried any others but a friend has a grand ole man that he swears by. Hope this helps, I'd be lost without my climber.

    Acorns and Berries

I have heard that white oaks will have acorns every year and that reds drop every other year. I'm am not sure this is correct. This year I have found many white oaks in my area with no acorns at all. Also the smaller oaks(15ft and below) had nothing. Is there a reason for this? Is it a...

    old ways of scent elimination

I put my gear in a container then add dry oak leaves corn stalks and cobs. Mix vigorously and let marinate. P.S. Be sure to remove all cobs, as this makes sitting in a deer stand very unpleasant. Frank

    "Rest Assured"

I just recieved my new golden key shoot out today. I had been trying to decide between this and the mirage fall away. The more moving parts thing scared me away from the fall away. (for now) Anyway I really like the design of the shoot out, hopefully it works even better. Well see...

    What the whiz...

Hey Muddy! After the cow call, trapping on your own trail and killing bucks in your own outhouse. There's no question your a LITTLE nuts!! So you can hunt with me anytime. Even if there wasn't a deer in the county (or your outhouse)it would be down right entertaining. Somebody make...

    Climbers

I am not an expert as I have only owned one. I love my API grand slam. Which is why I have only owned one. I have never felt unsafe and have never slipped on a tree, and when you put the cinch strap on it is solid on the tree. It also doesn't make noise, though it does a little when packing...

    New Mathews - The Legacy

Hey keep up the time with the family! That's the REAL legacy! (even though I do shoot a Mathews) My daughter just turned six and we went to our first 3D tournament together. It was great I made her a little quiver and everything. She was so excited every time we would come to the next shot...

    question for you photographers?

Last night I sat on fence line between two bean fields bordering my hunting ground. I just knew I was going to get some pictures of the big boys I will be hunting this fall. About 7:30 the first doe showed up. As did the first skeeter. By 8pm I had two yearlings at about 20 yds with about 50...

    fixed blade or mechanicle broadheads?

Since were on the broadhead topic. I'll jump in with this. I have shot razorback 3's for the last few years but they have quit making them. (They have come out with a new version at 10 bucks a piece) Anyway I need to find a new fixed blade broadhead. I hear good things about thunderheads...

    CWD and feeders

Just read the new deer and deer hunting mag. They had a big article about CWD. I know the info on this is changing rapidly the more that it is looked at. But the thing that stood out in my mind was the statement on how they thought it was spread. "Contaminated feed or nose to nose contact"...
