Big difference in Wi. and Ia DNR. Most of the DNR in Ia are trying to do what is best for hunters here. The DNR and hunters have done all that was asked of them by the Deer Task Force. All of what is happening now falls squarely on the shoulders of the Governor.

This issue is dead for the year. We have a real issue with our new Gov. and his ideas of how deer management should be handled. Can we take some of this time & energy being wasted on this thread and make sure our friends are contacting Branstad.

We are looking to stabilize the deer herd,not increase.Each year we continue at this rate will cause the herd to decrease. At the Deer Task Force meetings it was agreed that herd be taken down to the mid 90's level, which is where we are in many many counties. FB even agreed to this.

I agree, we don't have to shoot does,but part of the DNR proposal was to do away with Nov season and cut off the last week of late late season. Last two items are very important.

His decision isn't set in stone take the time to let him know how you feel.
