Here is another friendly competition. My boys love watching Chris Bee. They saw him shooting at Des Moines when he was younger. The gal with the recurve is impressive too.
I saw an 11 year old shoot two 300 Vegas rounds. I finally figured out he had a resistance release.(Carter mini evolution) I also read many other coaches have kids use them to get the surprise release feel down.
I would definitely recommend trying one.
I am still shooting a Martin Quicksilver I bought in 1987. Trigger panic special. LOL
My boys started with cheaper index releases. Then they shot Tru Ball TRexs. They have a video of the T Rexs on their YouTube channel. They still really like them. In fact they have been mixing them back in...
My boys are getting better equipment and better at using it. They are both shooting Stan releases now. Tackett has a used Mathews Vertix and Wyatt a new Elite Basin. I also bought Wyatt an HHA slider sight to match Tacketts.
This is the fourth time they are shooting long range with their bows...
Well we took the boys to their first ever 3D shoot. It was kind of just a fun shoot(not sanctioned). There was only one set of markers at each target. Geared toward good adult compound shooters.
Most of the shots were 35-55 yards. Some of the very small targets were 29 yards. Was very happy with...
They have shot them for just a few weeks. The 10 year old has a new bow, new arrows, higher poundage and the new release. He has shot one 30 round scoring session. His PB was 285 with 4 x’s. This first try he went 287 with 12 x’s and he hit right the whole time.
The 13 year old went from 290 PB...
Well I got my Stan Element yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to shoot it any. We did adjust it some and shoot it on a trainer cord.
My 10 year old may decide to trade me his OnneX. If he can shoot the element better I will trade him. The element is a little smaller and may fit his hand better...
Thanks! They are having a blast. Yes these resistance releases are awesome. I probably would never have tried them until I connected enough dots from researching YouTube videos, and from watching an 11 year old shoot a 300 on a Vegas face.
Well the wind finally got below 40 mph. LOL. The entire weekend was really windy here in NW Missouri. My boys finished up a video of their Stans last night. They are loving these. Hoping to get them rock solid on these and then maybe work on thumb releases and maybe even hinges with them. The...
Thanks for all the comments and views. My boys are far from experts but they are having fun.
Nothing more satisfying than passing it on to the next generation.
After doing a lot of research on coaching and how to get better at indoor Vegas spots I came upon resistance releases.
They have no trigger so you can't punch the trigger. LOL Anyway my boys watch lots of youtube unboxing videos by
archers so they wanted to make one too. Really hoping these...
I think most of the cattle in nw mo May have had Covid in 19 and 20. Calves were crap for many many farmers. Cows weaker and acted sick. Not all at once but many of us agree that something affected the cows an calves. 2021 they are back and my calf crop was awesome this year compared to the last...
Gotta love it!!! My two are addicts. Ten and thirteen. Ten year old likes hunting but is an absolute fish junkie. I mean researching fish diseases and diet and habitat and and and and…..
Thirteen year old is a deer junkie. Bow, gun, cameras, sheds….all year long.
Very blessed!!!!
I mounted the deer I was doing and had never looked at the outside of the cape until mounting it. Then I went like WTH is that????? I had some guys tell me it was a bad sewing job. Problem was I used a short Y cut. And the was zero sewing where the mane was. So after a little research I learned...
