Good breakdown … I’d agree on the 50 deer per square mile as a real breaking point up or down. I’d guess my section is 50-60 deer. Straight guess based on trail cam and sightings.

I can only speak from my experiences. I would say it’s down 30%? Just a guess … Yes EHD, probably more coyotes getting their share of fawns. There are not as many mature bucks around. I still saw 30+ deer in field during evenings in my farm .

My best luck with cameras is to angle them up high as noted already by IAbowhunter l1983 —second would be a tree near a field edge that is not as close to the deer . Note … this pic . The distance must not be as easy for the buck to detect it, pics are not close up, but it still works for...
