I run into buyers (investors/farmers) who are not diversified and lose zero sleep over it . They don’t buy stocks or bonds. They are comfortable with farm land and maybe have cash in the bank/CDs, etc… That’s what they know and they make it work. I actually don’t blame them one bit .

I had an investor call me once and he said I have 5 million in the bank getting 4%… if you can find me farm land that gets 3% I’d rather have that . So he bought a couple parcels, and is still buying here & there . It’s hard to even pencil out 3% now! It really doesn’t add up in most counties...

I have only ordered once, but will add more trees again. They offer persimmon which I’m excited to plant.

That’s a tough call. Selling your best Iowa farm would be something I’d have a hard time doing . Best of luck, maybe it all works out?

I’ve actually found the full moon phase to be slow evening hunts. Pretty good morning hunts—at least in Minnesota. Thats why I usually pick up a rod and go fishing during October full moon. I’ve never analyzed the November full moon phase as much ?

Super Blue Moon I guess?…moon phase have them on their feet ?? I know the October full moon is the best night to catch big walleyes on the lakes in my area!

EHD killed more deer in one season last fall, then 5-6 years worth of hunting on 600+ acres (factoring in my Iowa farm, and my neighbor.. who is also on this site)…. It’s a huge factor right now, hunting pressure or doe harvest is minor compared to the impact of EHD in my area.

In 2000-2010, think about what we didn’t have … cell cams, Redneck Blinds, less range in weapons. This stuff all adds up. It’s not just how many does you shoot, but I do think it can be a factor .
