    2024 Summer Buck pics

It's definitely has a lot of moving pieces. On my farm, I have plenty of food and water. Clover, alfalfa, beans, corn, etc.. I do not supplemental feed and that may hurt. I've talked to a lot of Iowa hunters who say minimal growth this year and it makes me think last year's weather has a big...

    2024 Summer Buck pics

Almost all of the bucks on my farm gained nothing or shrunk. I think the continuous drought over the last few years has hurt them.

    Dogs Dogs Dogs

Bowmar had a great way to get rid of dogs on a video..After talking to neighbor and still having issues trap them..Then haul them 2-3 hours away to a shelter and tell the owners where they can pick them up..Next time drive to another state and drop them of at a shelter..seems like a good idea

    What's next for Republicans?

It seems like Iran must have a lot of blackmail info on the Dems. Biden doesn't want to touch their nuclear facilities. I'm guessing Iran warned him don't touch our nuclear facilities or we will spill the beans on your corruption.....Just a guess.

High deer density/ crop damage - iowa & Illinois …

I believe you on the information you shared but in my area no one was shooting does..it was mostly leased farms with non resident hunters and they came to shoot a buck. Even some of the big landowners near me were not shooting does.

High deer density/ crop damage - iowa & Illinois …

I had a couple farms in Schuyler County illinois that I sold a couple years ago. The doe population on my farms was extremely high and the buck doe ratio was around 7 to1. Lots of farmers in my area (sugar creek), got permits to shoot does in the summer. Very few hunters were shooting does and...

    Flies

I have never seen so many flies than I'm seeing this year. My house is a metal building and the flies cover it in the thousands. They get inside the house and die all over the floor..In the garage and outside the building you can hear them, it sounds like bees swarming it's so loud..Anyone else...

    Common here.

With technology everyone is shooting more high scoring young bucks. That means the poor genetic bucks live and breed. I can't tell you how many super serious hunters I talk with who say I don't have a high scoring old buck this year to hunt, just culls. High grading is a big problem. The only...

Youth success… Double on old bucks!

Awesome. You killed two birds with one stone. You got youth hunters on incredible bucks, and got 2 bully bucks out before the fighting starts up..

    Bike hunters ??

"Rhino grips" on your handlebars will work. Most of the time, I use a bow sling and ride with the bow over my back.

    Here we go again EHD????

I found a nice buck dead a couple days ago and smelled another one on the gravel rd that runs by my farm. I saw a lot of buzzards circling the big creek that runs thru the area. I did check one pond, and nothing was dead by it. It might just be hitting some in Decatur co.

    Brassica yellowing

I've been extremely dry on my farm since July. Almost all the rains missed me this summer..The ground has huge cracks in it all over the farm, and all the grass is dead. It's way drier this year than last on my farm, and I could not even plant brassica this year

    Whitetail Master Academy

I like watching Winke..He's down to earth and has a lot of hunting knowledge. Guys master their own technique and become really successful on giants. Sometimes those techniques are opposite of orhers. Look at Winke and D'Anquisto from lone wolf.. They hunt with completely opposite techniques but...

    What's next for Republicans?

Everyone knew she would have the questions ahead of time, that was a no brainer. I do think if they can identify who gave those to her, that should be considered election interference and jail time should occur. Of course, that will never happen. I like Trump's reverse psychology saying he won't...

How elusive/ secluded can deer be?

It seems like the old guys prefer thick water ways in ag fields, clumps of thick grass and brush along ag creeks, or ravines that are chocked with thick, grown up brush.

Farm set up question. Alfalfa field vs traditional food plots

I put in 3 acres of alfalfa this spring and it has been a magnet for deer all summer. The biggest bucks I have on camera this year are from the alfalfa. 3 acres seems just about right on my farm.

    Transporting redneck blind

Good point about bolting them down too. I forgot that when Redneck delivered they bolt them down to their trailer.
