Getting my mind off politics...Hunting bikes.

My bike is 7-8 years old and I rarely peddle. Maybe that could have something to do with it.

20 Years of Non Resident Hunting Iowa, My 5th Tag This Year, I'm Psyched!

How have you seen the hunting change since you started going? More deer, less deer, bigger bucks then, or more big ones now?

Getting my mind off politics...Hunting bikes.

I bought a QuietKat from a buddy that never used it. I love it and consider it a gamechanger. My farm sets up great for using a bike and I use it a lot. I have noticed deer don't spook as bad when I go by on the bike, they just stare and watch. Some trot off but they never blow. When I had to...

    Need rain bad

I'm still in a severe drought at my place. I cannot even plant brassica yet, and the ground is like concrete. No chance of rain for 7 days.

    Recommended spreaders??

I used the Moultrie ATV spreader with electric gate for a few years. It did ok. The problems I had were seed getting stuck in the holes (mainly oats) and some rust issues. I think you could get at least 5 years out of it if you oil it after fertilizer use.

    Broadcasting oats on slope

Will the rye effect switchgrass? I know they say don't plant rye in an area you plan to plant corn the next season due to its toxicity. I love rye for fighting weeds for that toxicity reason.

    Need rain bad

I haven't had any measurable rain in the last month (SC Iowa). I have huge cracks in the ground everywhere, grass is dying, and corn is starting to die. You guys getting rain are lucky.

    Fertilizer options??

I have used a drill for brassica and I don't think it does nearly as well as a hand spreader. If able, I would spread fertilizer, lightly disc or till, spread seed, then cultipack. I know guys don't like to disc or till soil anymore, but I think for brassica it works better to lightly turn the soil.

    Camo clothing

I have most of the high dollar clothes, but the Cabelas MT 050 Parka and pants have been my favorite. I also like the heater body suit while sitting in a blind during brutal weather.

    What's next for Republicans?

I fully anticipate her promising a lot of free stuff over the next month if she gets the nomination. I still think the Obamas will make a run at it.

    Anonymous pic thread???

I learned many years ago not to share big buck pictures. It stinks that is the case, but I've learned the hard way.

    What's next for Republicans?

Insiders are saying Michelle Obama will emerge as the Dem candidate at the convention (the reason Barack didn't endorse Kamala). Will she pick Barack as her VP?

    What's next for Republicans?

Can you imagine if they put Kamala in as the candidate..I think they could walk out into the street and instantly find a better person to run the country than her..Scary thought of her being our President!

    What's next for Republicans?

They already have Kamala out campaigning, so it looks like she is up to bat. If the thought of her being our President doesn't scare the xxxxx out of you, then nothing will. Scary scary thought.

    Spraying enlist soybeans now

It is mostly grass 6 inches and some other broadleafs scattered like cocklebur..My main concern is spraying the beans with flowers on them. In the past I've been told it kills the flowers. Since it's a food plot I'll just spray, mainly to knock the grass out. Thanks

    Spraying enlist soybeans now

My enlist beans came in sparse due to heavy browsing. I have some broadleafs and grass coming in now. The beans are starting to flower and I wonder if you can spray them with 2, 4-d and/or roundup even though they are flowering? Or is it better just to ride the weeds out at this point?
