What if you have been rolling farms over the years with 1031 exchanges and finally cash out.... Let's say you live off of cash one year and sell your current farm(s) to cash out for good. Is that still a normal capital gains tax based off the sold farms value, or would it be a zero capital gains...
Yep, and late muzz these bucks are extremely vulnerable. Almost every landowner I talk to says the same thing. I ask, do you have any good 5+ old bucks on your place this year? Almost 100% of the time they say no just the culls live to be old because no one shoots them. The young bucks with good...
I liked the podcast! I've never met Steve, but I can tell he obviously lives whitetails. One thing I can really relate to that he talked about is how hard it is to get on giant, old bucks now. I've thought about this a lot of the years and think it's mainly because hunting has become easier...
Between CWD and EHD we have our hands full, and hopefully a cure is found soon. Aren't they shooting a lot of deer on the Iowa line in Northern Missouri to control CWD? Also, I think almost everyone agrees deer are really exposed to these at mineral licks and even feed stations. So why are...
I switched over to a new insurance company from State Farm, and they seem to be solid. Plus, the agent is an outdoorsman. If anyone wants his # to compare rates PM me.
Did anyone get hit by the recent hail and tornadoes? I saw Appanoose and maybe Davis got hit with a tornado yesterday. Madison and Warren had big hail?
Crossbows and more outfitters are right there with more NR hunters in my opinion. We need to come into the capital with an army if these issues go to a vote next year.
Yes, the biggest loser in this bill is the state of Iowa (assuming I understand this bill correctly). Let's say a landowner is very picky and only has 1 or 2 bucks he is after. Now he can just buy the one cheap landowner tag and roll it all season. Lots of lost revenue will result from less...
As a landowner I don't like this change (age structure will be impacted some by this). Basically all it does for the state is take license revenue away, and I'm surprised they passed this. Next year they will be saying we need more revenue and that will put pressure on allowing more...
I got the email too..Great news for Iowa hunters! We owe Skip a big thanks for all his effort in fighting the bad bills..I donated money to help fight against the bad bills and will do the same next year.
We need to assemble an Army at the capital when the votes on crossbows, more NR hunters, more outfitters, etc take place. If we can know when these go to vote, and plan as far out as possible to assemble a big group it will help. Nice job Skip on representing everyone today.
I don't believe they are criminal tickets, just civil. So not paying would probably at least hurt your credit report. If someone was driving her car and not her, she can probably get out of it. It would be interesting to see what an Iowa attorney says about these tickets.
