Incredible. What's so fun looking back through the years is how we dressed, hair styles, foot wear, gear , vehicles ect. Looking back, the first pic I posted in this thread, I shot him straight down below me. Could not find him that evening so went in the morning. Found him (way back in)...

    Views from the stand 2024-25

Here is the view from the bottom of the stand where I killed my buck few days ago. Granted, it was taken this past summer. Small clover plot. The buck was making a scrape under that yellowish tree when I shot.

I did not, but that is an under rated round. Got the " sexy" factor to it. Love the pics guys. Keep em coming. This was about 1987ish. Shot it an HONEST Over 1/2 mile with a 25_06. On the full run. I don't believe he was even in the scope at the shot. Total hail Mary. Bullet has to land...

    Rye...now??

Never would imagine in 10,000 years but... I'm thinking of broadcasting rye tomorrow. 3 day forecast is showing bout 3/4 inch of rain and the 10 day shows highs in the high 40s / mid 50s. Got 2 bushels stored and as stupid as it sounds, I may spread it in the morning in a 1/2 acre brassica...

    He didnt grow

Thanks again guys.:) May sound weird but... Few bucks here get big racks (score wise) anymore. I know it sounds odd. Does to me also. They just seem to stagnate once they hit 3.5 and that's it. (They do seem to gain some mass though) He's been a regular here past 2 years and just didn't grow...

    He didnt grow

Much from last year. Figgered he would because of the mild winter but it just becoming a common reality around here. Was a super fun hunt today. Was in super tight cover and could only see glimpses of deer but by judging body language, it was apparent this guy was chasing off other bucks. He...

    Rye...now??

Catch 22. With our 10 day warmer then normal (by far), I could easily still put in rye. Problem is, the ground is SO DRY, a 1/2" or perhaps even an inch won't do much unless it's a prolonged wet event. Sure, it will Germ but...., ain't nothing for the roots to retrieve down deeper. Rye is easy...
