Just goes to show the biggest issue with upland game birds is habitat.
You could have trapped your heart out back when there were a few dozen birds and not seen any improvement.
There's guys moving 7 coveys a day still in MO on farms managed for upland game bird habitat.
There's a pile of choices out there.
Probably the most highly sought after is Blue Hill. You have to be on line the day of ordering for most of the varieties.

I also like Whitetail Crabs, you can still get a lot of their varieties last I checked...
Passed some good young deer.
The two bucks in this first pic put on a show. The one buck snort wheezed at the other buck.
This young 10 has a lot of potential.
My son shot this buck opening evening. The moment just before the shot.
I wait to have them shipped till early spring. I graft the scions to the rootstock and store in a cold garage for them to callus over. They’re pulled out of the garage and planted in trays later in spring. They’re babysit till fall when I take them out to their permanent home.
Usually get 3-4’...
40-45 was my guess
Never weighed it tho.
There's literally 3 trees that fell in where most all of these flats are coming from within 50 yards of each other.
