    Cash rent farmer

Agree with several others - If that's your long term goal for this area, seems like a reasonable deal.

    All things scrapes

My hemp rope is still being "seasoned" - IE Left outside for the past 6 months. Still stinks like something unnatural, maybe it will be ready Fall '24..

    Neck Injury

Update: Original photo above was Nov 24th. Have photos through December of him checking scrapes, pushing other bucks, etc. Appears not to have phased him at all. Amazing animals.

    Soil builder mixes?

If not doing beans or corn, you'd be hard pressed to beat an Alice / Red clover field in the summer for deer food. I frost seed this exact clover mix into my cereal grain / brassica green fields each winter. Mow all summer, then disc under for a fall plot. Or spray and no til into it...

Hoping so, has a lot of potential. Starting to throw a 5th point on the right side behind one of the brow tines. Need to review some more recent pics to see what he looks like. That was late November. More pics to go through..

    Favorite Fall Brassica?

Interesting. Maybe I need to try a heavier mix with these. Mark Drury is a fan of pure radish stands as well. I have a small 1/4 acre corner by a stand I may try that this year.. One could almost "micro manage" his brassicas with the PTT further out away from stands (post season food) and...

    Favorite Fall Brassica?

Curious to hear others experiences here.. I've played with a few different varieties over the years - here are my results: - DE Rape - Eaten early and often for me. Deer and turkey both seem to demolish the leaves from early season (September) onward. Been a good staple, will keep...

    Beans and corn together

Maybe Dual? I know guys use that for soybean / milo intercropping. I just disc in soybeans and milo together with about 200# AMS. Always have a great stand of milo. Soybeans here and there depending on how the deer pressure is over the summer. Great thing is they leave the milo alone so...

The other side of the argument

"Field Rats" as farmers refer to them.. Yes, different mentality completely. If you're a farmer with no interest in hunting, they are nothing more than yield robbers. Lots of great knowledge on Agtalk..

Coyote dogs and Private Land Deer Hunting.

The fact that guys are killing coyotes or racoons still doesn't excuse the fact that they and/or their dogs are trespassing on my property. I have zero tolerance for that kind of entitlement, and lack of respect.

Coyote dogs and Private Land Deer Hunting.

Did you let your dogs roam unattended? And without a leash? If so, I don't empathize with you.

    Pheasant rebound…

That's awesome, wish I could get some on our farm in MO. Wonder if stocking works to get a wild pop started? Studies seem to show it does not with quail.

    Grain drills

You could definitely weight the front. I’ve done this before in a pinch. Your HP or Hydraulics won’t be a limiting factor.
