Marking dye in a sprayer tank

Works great in a spot sprayer- I think a big sprayer would be difficult. You’d be better off with foaming markers (remember when that’s what everyone did before gps) might be able to find a way to do that?

    Tactacam 3.0

I figure by next year they might be banned so I’m holding off. But would love to hear reviews from real world experience, not “staffers”

Assuming you have the power in 2024...

I agree with no minimum on LOT tags BUT I think the whole program needs revised to make sure the qualifications are being met. I also think it should be Landowner only- that tenant part is WAY to abused. Now would be the perfect time with floating tags- clean up a bunch of that would help.

    John Deere Moving

Ha I only have a John Deere for that reason. I have 3 dealerships within 30 miles. The closest if any other color is 70+ miles which is unfortunate.

Assuming you have the power in 2024...

If it’s low enough and cash, who is going to report it? But no- you can’t make money off it. I have crp and timber reserve. I can’t make a dime and actually was told I’m not supposed to let my chickens out there to “graze” because I sell the eggs (make money) and they made that comment multiple...

Assuming you have the power in 2024...

End all seasons Dec 31. Early muzzy is a primitive season. (Other than the stuff already posted)

CRP rate sheet for one area- time is now!!!

I had the FSA come out to check mine- they drove across my food plot with standing crops, almost ran a camera over, and backed over a young tubed tree. Never got out of the vehicle (camera stamps of them in and out were 5 minutes apart). Haven’t been real keen on keeping them here but to break...

    Deer sightings.

I mean- I can see deer all the time on a few different roads around me. It’s just if they are the ones that I want to see is the question. I feel like fawning time around me keeps them at a different pattern due to predators. Once the fawns get big enough I feel like is when I really start...

    Rain so far.

One of the State DOT told me that at 35 and 90 you could always count on storms splitting. He had a theory it was the heat from traffic. Last year when we got zero rain, sure enough that’s what always happened.

    Rain so far.

I’ve heard the levy broke in Spencer and they are requesting help with rescues. We got another 1.5 for a total of 5 inches in 24 hours. We have rain 4 out of the next 7 days in the forecast too. Not good

3.5” in my rain gauge this morning and more coming

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

We get requests daily- takes about 5 minutes to get records. But yes- pain in a lot of different ways, just not hard and getting easier everyday to do. The cell cam companies need to just make the cameras only send at 12 pm/am option. Problem solved, or as you say, bam them all together but I...

    Rain so far.

Same- all fields got planted and look good here in north Iowa. Rains can stop though- can’t get anything done. Predicting 2-8 inches in this area for rain (northern IA/Southern MN)

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

The thing about technology- it’s all traceable. I work in the technology field, it’s not hard to get a record to see if they all dumped at once or are timely. I’m betting the DNR would look pretty quick going forward too

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

But won’t be having them send timely anymore

    Other states stepping up

I would love to see Iowa as a 1 buck state and an extra for LOT over “x” acres for NEW parcels (that might be hard to track?) but if you eliminated LOT all together, you’d lose a lot of small farms to ag or who knows, developers. I’m also in favor of reduced doe tags for all NR LOTs, and also...

    Other states stepping up

I didn’t have to give up out of states- but if you draw, it’s hard to pencil out with 2 little girls at home. I figure I can buy points until they are older and then maybe get into some sweet places but if prices do keep going up, I will go after “what I want” versus just anything. I’m ok with...

    Other states stepping up

I’ve hunted Colorado a few times- last time it was terrible. So we’ve only bought points since, I think it’s going to drastically get better (minus the wolves)

    Other states stepping up

Another state looking out for its residents! I like to see it personally https://www.outdoorlife.com/hunting/colorado-eliminates-nonresident-otc-archery-elk-tags/
