I just pile up brush around it more than actually attach to the blind. If you're leaving it out all season, they won't care. Just brush it in some, doesn't need to disappear.

Do you have any fear of getting soil contact with the thatch this fall? I am planning on seeding a rye mix into my beans as well this fall. Are you able to do more years of continuous beans with this approach?

I have had a tub of black horn powder for about 4 yrs or so. I can not remember if I even broke the seal on it or not, at any rate, the cap has always been on tight. So I'm curious, how long do you guys trust this powder to store?
