    Garmin Xero bow sight

Setup on the PRO I can do in less than a half-hour start to finish if you can shoot well and repeatable. Never had a battery go bad in one - actually have one running in the shop i have intentionally left ON that i show people how they work - still showing full charge after weeks.

    Garmin Xero bow sight

I've ran one on my own personal hunting bow for the last 3 years and have sold, put on and setup well over 50 here at Buck Hollow. Very popular sight and i've never had a customer have a single one of the issues that everyone seems to worry about - they have worked flawlessly.

Range Finder Issues and Replacement Recommendations

They all work great - just depends on how nice of a rangefinder and what options you want it to have. We mainly stock and sell the cheaper versions because they fulfill what 95% of people want but do order and sell a few high end ones like Fury and Razor as well.

Range Finder Issues and Replacement Recommendations

I have a pair of Vortex Fury Rangefinding binoculars very lightly used i would let go for $800 - thats half price of what they are listed for now on Vortex website. I now use a Garmin rangefinding sight on my bow so dont use these any more.

    Bow tune question

Nock an arrow and look at the bow from behind it - try to align the string to the center of the riser and see if your arrow is pointed straight down the middle or points off to one side or the other - probably the rest is set up outside of center shot.

Range Finder Issues and Replacement Recommendations

Leopold has started charging people to fix their rangefinders- their display fading out after a few years seems to be a common problem - I had one about 3 years ago they fixed for free and a buddy sent one in 6 months later and they wanted like $200 to fix it - we switched over to selling Vortex...

Bow Shootout - which one will come out on top?

if you want to shoot 60 it is best to have a 60# bow. I recommend shooting a bow in the top half of its weight range for more efficiency and quieter operation. While you can back most bows down 10# or more it changes the geometry of the limbs, cams, strings, etc. ever so slightly from how...

Bow Shootout - which one will come out on top?

We sell way more 60# bows than 70 and quite often I sell 50# bows for people who cant pull what they used to. I myself have shot a 60# bow for close to 20 years. I get 280 Feet Per second or more out of a 427 grain arrow and it is VERY RARE that i don't get a complete pass thru. I cant...

Bow Shootout - which one will come out on top?

Spine of the arrows was perfect - they were all set to exactly 60 # and shot beautiful bullet holes in a paper tune IBO speed ratings are based on 70# bow @ 30" draw with only a 350 grain arrow - way lighter that most use to hunt. I used more real world specs based on arrow weight and draw...

Fixed vs mechanical - one simple “new” question

As an archery shop owner, you hear about any and all issues people have with their equipment in the field. Every year i have multiple people report issues with mechanical heads, granted, some of those were self-induced but they still failed to work as they are designed. Therefore i could...

    New yard question for grass?

I redid a few areas of my lawn a few years ago and at the recommendation of a friend who is a golf course grounds superintendent i planted turf-type tall fescue. What i did notice was that at the driest time of the year those areas were the greenest by far

Bow Shootout - which one will come out on top?

All tuned pretty quick - just a couple shots each to get to a bullethole Speeds are pretty in line with what you would expect - hard to compare to IBO ratings since we are 75+ grains over IBO arrow weight. I know there are theoretical calculators but in my 35 years in the business Ive learned...
