Moved back for a better job opportunity and to be close to family and friends again. Loved living in Iowa though and will be back deer hunting any time I can draw a tag! I could see myself moving back one day once the kids are grown and gone. Merry Christmas to everybody.

No the giant 10 is a ghost come fall. Zero sightings and not a single trail cam pic of him either since late August.

I was lucky enough to draw an Iowa bow tag this year and headed back to the Iowa public land for a 10 day hunt November 5-15. The first few days were slow for big boys but saw a lot of young bucks on the prowl. Things picked up on the 7th and some better deer showed up too as I passed 2 bucks...

Here are a few decent bucks I will be chasing on public land come November.....and a little kitty cat.

I honestly don't know why anybody leases land in Iowa. There are better opportunities on public land than probably 80+% of the land being leased. I'm talking bow season. Gun season its a crap shoot.

He was probably growing something....but probably not tomatoes. I found an old triangular shaped TV antena base about 13-14 foot tall tied to a tree with nylon rope last fall on public ground that they used to climb up to a hang on. Stand was still there too but looked like it hadn't been...
