    Crossbow

I had some similar setbacks and bought a Ten Point Siege. More compact and shoots just over 440 fps with 16" bolts. It is an awesome quality made crossbow. The crank makes it so easy to cock and de-cock.

    Just for Fun Notes

Never had with the exception of one hunt in Illinois, notched buck and doe sightings that day on a tree in the edge of a very small patch in the middle of a field. Saw 21 buck that day and several dozen doe and watched a young buck breed a doe 10yrds from me. First time I heard a breeding bellow...

    Grunt Tubes

I also had success with the Buck Roar, called in and killed 3 mature bucks in Illinois and passed on a couple. I don't use calls too much anymore, but I have one I bought years ago I really like. Don't know of they're even made anymore. It has a long, small poly tube with a safety pin you clip...

How elusive/ secluded can deer be?

The older the smarter! I always wondered how they seem to disappear during the winter with no canopy and limited cover. I glass all the barren wood lots around the farms and don't see them but come sunset there they are.

    Deer Decoy

Never tried one, I'm sure they work but it comes down to the right buck in the right mood.

    Hanging deer

I don't think wrapping it plastic is a good idea. The meat needs some air circulation. Something I forgot to mention that I remove all the sinew by filleting it off the aged meat and most of the fat and any glands or you will get a wild taste.

    Hanging deer

Dry age for 12 to 14 days will make venison tender and fit for a king without a strong gammy taste. I quarter mine and put them in a spare fridge with a drip pan underneath. My wife wasn't a fan of deer meat but now she likes it better. Biggest thing with venison is not to over-cook.

One of these things doesnt belong.....

Not all that bad compared to the min-80's. Interest rates were 14.5% when I bought 7 acres and built our house. About a year later it dropped to 12.5 % so I refinanced to cut down on monthly payments, then a couple years later it dopped to 7.5% and I knocked the 30y mortgage down to 15 years. It...

    What's next for Republicans?

His speeches are all over the place, flip flops and lies a lot. Talks like a moron, bullies our allies and they hate him. Some are even considering joining BRIC's . Have you ever listened closely to some of the idiotic things he says? No, Harris is not more fit!

    What's next for Republicans?

You're a funny guy, I have a lot of firearms and ammo that no one will ever take.

    What's next for Republicans?

True! I've been a republican all my voting life (moderate one) and will never vote democrat!!! I do NOT trust Trump; he's not fit to be the leader of the free world. I Like the majority of his policies but after his 3rd year in office he went nuts and started showing his true colors. Just...

    Deer Reacting to Cell Cams

Something I'm considering as well. I might just put some out in mid-August until late September, by then I know what's round. Once the last week of October arrives you never know what bucks will venture by anyway. Holding out for a specific buck never seems to work out.
