    Land prices / insane!!!

Don't forget about all the city people wanting land in rural areas. Many aren't hunters they are just fleeing the cities. Especially those coming from the east and west coast. Selling a small house in a CA city will buy a lot in rural midwest. Now add 250,000/month illegals flooding those...

    Cold Feet

I like my heated socks I got from amazon. They are relatively inexpensive and last about 6 hours and recharge via usb charger. The trick I found is to put on a thin pair of normal socks then put on the heated ones. I wear Danner pronghorns 800g for boots. Toasty feet

    MOST COMMON POACHING METHODS???

I think shooting from trucks is the #1 around me. Trail cams seem to have reduced the blatant trespassing. I was thinking about mounting some fake wireless trail cam/wireless security cam way up high on the Telephone poles along the road. Utility Co might take them down but it may give the...

    Chestnuts

Habitat1 I have only been doing chestnuts for a couple years but maybe I can help with your questions. To keep critters away, I just mowed about 3-4 feet around each tree. I also have a mulch ring around each tree with the mulch piled about 3" up the side of the tube. So far that has kept the...

    WHY IS IOWA GREAT?

I agree with much of what you say but would also add-most people over simplify this debate. The type of weapon used and how the DNR manages that weapon is definitely a factor but without a base of environment/climate/terrain/genetics you will not replicate Iowa. The same reason why antelope...

    WHY IS IOWA GREAT?

There it is! Gun season or not, if you don't have the right environment/habitat/terrain/genetics it would be extremely difficult to replicate what Iowa has.

    Chestnuts

This one was started as a seed in spring of 2019. Had about 10% die off the 1st year. Is that about normal.???? I know it was mostly my fault with incorrect planting methods.

    Consentration of d4d

pretty sure roundup can be applied at 2/3 oz per 1000 sq ft or 32 ounces per acre(double check label). I have used low rate effectively to kill grass in clover without killing the clover. May temporarily curl the leaves a bit but clover is tough. I like clethodim also but I use it only when...
