Hypothetical: if money was no object

Easy, a Vail feeder for each farm and it would take the money is no object theory to keep them full year round.

Thoughts on bulk feeders and costs ?

So something interesting that I heard the other day about how some guys keep the feeders going during the season and if a target buck shows up on the cell cam sitting over them they immediately go in a pull the feeder and hunt the surrounding plots. And I’m just relaying a story because that’s...

Thoughts on bulk feeders and costs ?

Most of their farms aren’t that large . Our neighbor by Stockport has 2600 acres in a big spread out chunk. Now that’s a lot lol. Maybe not a lot compared to some big farms in south central Iowa but to get ahold of that in southeast Iowa took a few years.

Thoughts on bulk feeders and costs ?

Many of you like me have probably noticed a correlation between some guys who are feeding year round with bulk feeders and being successful at holding and killing specific deer if a guy could afford it. Im not sure if I quite agree with feeding them like cattle all year so they stay around but...

    Taxidermist in Iowa buying Land

The only way I would partner up would be if you find a larger piece together but yet parcel it off so you each actually own half and then hunt and manage it together. then if things don’t work out down the road you still have your own farm . Would of course take the right layout with access for...

What’s more valuable for holding/producing/hunting deer? Crops vs crp?

It’s the Birmingham farm. We put a bunch in pollinator so did our partners and so did 2 of the immediate neighbors . Soil isn’t the best down there so it’s not like we ended up having 5 foot tall nice bedding. And the deer now like head out to the big crop fields to the north and east where the...

    Crp question

My parents are at the cap of the crp payments they can receive. My wife and I own a small percentage of a farm we would like to see about putting in. Does anyone have experience with legality of how to distribute crp payments to other family members and owners what the rules are. Just trying to...

Thought of day- NR’s, lobbyists & politicians wanting to change our laws..

It’s a huge problem and ask any realtor who is buying all the farms resident / nonresidents these days. Whatever it takes I’m for it.

Thought of day- NR’s, lobbyists & politicians wanting to change our laws..

Someone told me the other day the DNR is starting to track phones to determine if NRs who are claiming residency are actually there for 6 months of the year. Anyone else heard of this staring to happen? I’m all for it by the way. If the rewards were substantial I could make a lot of money .

    Pickup hoist

Not as long as you get it positioned and started up right. It’s pretty easy once you figure it out. And a guy could always use two boards also.

    Pickup hoist

We have hoists and don’t ever use them I take a chunk of 2x10 or 2x12 and leave one at each farm that goes from the ground to the tailgate and can slide a deer up into the bed easily by myself.
