Good movement today. Hit some new ground and had an eventful hunt. Saw several good bucks cruising alone. Should be tagged out but he snuck in on me and I was not prepared. 10 yd staring contest. He won.

Last night was ok. Had a doe with 2 yearlings come by and eventually a spike that harassed them pretty good. Last light a mature 130in. 8 came in and tempted me for awhile. He cut the mature does trail eventually and did a u turn.

Do not till. It will just encourage weeds. I would be getting out there real early on a hard frost and broadcast until it gets greasy. Depending on where you are, we basically have freeze/thaw in the forecast every day and that is all you would need.
I have no tilled hundreds of acres of...
You're going to confuse people with all this 'wrp crp' talk skip! But yes, crp wetland programs and wrp (that's actually an outdated acronym now) are different. It's 10-15 yr contract with annual payments vs forever easement with one big check.
Wrp (I think) is now ACEP and I believe these are...
As for enrollment of new easements, it used to pay $/CSR point. At one time was $102/point for central Iowa. I believe they are flat rates now. Different numbers for crop, pasture and timber. Quality of investment depends on the market. If the program is paying close to/as much/more than market...
Both of my kids youth deer last year were killed with bloodlines. I took a chance because I liked the idea of the break away petals but there weren't many reviews out there. Both used, I believe, 50 gr bh209. Both big does were shot well and did massive damage. Daughters blood trail was like...
I'd up the rate over a bushel if the broadcasted beans are dense. You don't have nice, clean rows for the rye to find. Time around rain and when the beans drop leaves.
It does not like cold. I have a sneaky suspicion that a wick wouldn't get enough chemical to the plant to kill it but it's just a suspicion. I'd put together a stiff concoction if you try it.
Be careful with succulents like purslane. They can re-root fairly readily from fractured parts of the plant, so mowing might not be your best bet. Any herbicide used would need to be spiked to get through their waxy leaves and I cannot personally think of any herbicide you could use that...
Drown it or farm it, with combo of herbicide. RC likes wet so only you know if it's too wet for a food plot. I'd like to see some pictures.
Start by killing with Habitat, RU, clethodium (options, not a concoction) or whatever else that works. Spray this fall after you've mowed it. If you mow...
You need to pull samples of those grasses on the top field. Do a little research as to what the ligules, hair on leaves, etc. looks like between annual grasses and natives. If that top field is all foxtail I would much prefer the condition of the bottom field.
The difference in what is growing...
I like Booners concoction in general, but not for CRP if there are any forbs. Transline is the most selective broadleaf killer that I use and it does very well on thistle, crown vetch, birdsfoot trefoil and even red clover if applied at the right time. Generally switch to milestone around this...
