    Wisconsin can keep them

I know of a local population. I was shoveling fresh dirt from a hole in the ditch for a planter when I came face to face with one peeking out of the hole. Decided I had enough dirt.

Tell me why we should shoot more does

Culling the deer herd charge was driven by the car insurance agencies and the Farm Bureau, IMO. Has your car insurance dropped after the massive herd correction? Seems the only people that benefited were farmers and insurance agencies. I'm opting out on the doe tags until I see damage to the...

    What is this?

Ha ha, just found oyster mushrooms last week and have been eating them three times since. I did confirm them through multiple sources before trying a small bit at first. I've put a beef arm roast with some of them in the crock pot this morning before work. The link I posted then doesn't work now.

    What's next for Republicans?

Yeah, we are such a terrible country. We should apologize to the rest of the world.

    Iowa City Bowhunt changes

Most residents prefer hiring White Buffalo to sharp shoot deer over bait since bow hunters might get enjoyment from killing deer. A dead deer is a dead deer, IMO.

    Iowa City Bowhunt changes

Distance from other properties that you had to have permission from. It wasn’t just the landowner you worked with, many times the property you hoped to hunt has many border landowners you needed to get permission from. Look at the maps listed at the second link, very limited on public ground...

    Crownvetch again

Clearing trees off a hayfield for a late cutting and one field is full of crownvetch. Farmer that will custom harvest it for us wasn't familiar with it, so did a quick search and found this USDA document. A search on here turned up an old post where it was briefly discussed, leaned towards...

    Wow Just Wow....... Land Prices

Neighbor's 80 acre of mature oak timber was listed for sale in Johnson Co for $1M but didn't sell due to lack of easement to subdivide it. They've done some selective logging for cash flow. For the right price, I think I might know someone who could sell an easement. ;)

    What's next for Republicans?

Minnesota does not seem very Second Amendment friendly to me from memory. Traveling out west with a side arm, they did not offer reciprocity to Iowa Concealed Carry Permits. You had to have the pistol and ammo locked in separate boxes in the trunk/out of reach of the driver. I don't think...

    Edible?

Called a mycologist at the local university last night, sent pics to him and he confirmed yellow oysters. Fried up a couple last night as a trial run, no problems and we like them. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of them.... He said put them in a paper bag and store in the fridge...
