They don't look good.
I highly recommend that you plant a few different varieties so if down the road you have issues such as posted it probably won't effect all the varieties.
Be very careful not to take off to soon.
Bucks love to rub their antlers on them.
I have taken some tubes off at about 2" diameter and protected the chestnut tree with wire fenching just for a test.
One tree they got the wire way up the tree and almost ruined the tree.

Removed a area in the corner of a woods so forest like soil and planted these trees the fall of 2020, after they were started from seed and spent the summer in the greenhouse.
4 years and have nuts.
