Hey paul I was wondering if you have ever broadcast a fall mix into soy beans right as they are losing their leaves? I am wanting to get as much food in one area this next year and was wondering if this is an opition?
Just wondering how well the ew is working at funneling deer? I have a 2 acre field the deer pour into but in a spot I can't get within bow range. I am wondering if I plant a strip to bring them back 40 yards or so before they disperse into the field. I would think it would be woth a shot.
I am having a hard time figuring out why it is growing now? It was planted on sept 26th never got rained on untill the first week of november and then another time the second week of november. There were a lot warmer temps then and it never sprouted. Why did it decide to grow now?
Hold on I spoke too soon. I was on this farm first shotgun season and there was no evidence of rye growing at all. I went back today for the first time since and had to snap a picture. I know it is really hard to see but there are sprouts of rye everywhere. Is it possible this stuff is growing...
I missed out on any measurable rain untill the first week of november. So needless to say my rye never grew. I want to turn this field into half brassicas and half rye/clover mix next fall. What are my best options this spring oats/red mix? Oats/berseem mix?
I had problems with mine took 800 pics the first 2 weeks it was out. The first 150 were good the next were all black. I went on the website found a video about how to use them and it gives you a way to update the camera. With new batteries and the update mine works just fine now.
I have gotten quite a few bobcats on camera over the years and they all are usually about the same size. This guy dwarfs any picture I have ever gotten.
I was wondering where I can get an aerator pump? I have a 2 acre pond that has had an aerator ever since I moved in and the air pump decided to go bad the other day. With the low water level I don't want to risk letting it freeze solid this year. Any ideas?
We had a great trip record setting temps all week not a drop of rain and a little wind. We fished muskies a little had a few on but never got any in the boat. I was with a group of walleye guys and they didnt like all that casting. The first fish of the trip was a 24 inch walleye
We kept...
Here we go again. I haven't missed opening day of bow for about 6 years. I had a free trip offered to me that I couldn't turn down. Headed up today and comin back at the end of the week I will post pics when I get home.
I toyed around with the idea of what to plant in my "back 40". It is the furthest field away on the farm therefore the hardest to get to without spooking deer. There are trees to the west trees to the north and a fenceline then crop field to the south the east is what I would be coming through...
I will add 17. You know sureshot1 is in his twenties because the deer "popcans" would have been named "beercans" if he was over 21 when he first named the deer.
I figured I would share some pictures. I posted in the management form that I had the guy skip out on planting my fall food plots this year. I had the field sprayed and ready to go for him and he never showed. Anyway the field was sprayed in the middle of july.
As you can tell from the picture...
It seems like I forget about these evey year until I walk out in the morning and spend half the time in the stand picking them off. What have u guys found that is the best way to get them off your clothes?
Well I got some planted about 5 minutes before I was done it started raining and rained light but steady for 45 minutes or so. I am hoping for that low pressure system to spin on us one more day. Thanks risto. I wouldn't hire him anyway seems to arrogant. I took some pictures I will get them...
