Friend's Daughter Kills a Big One

Posting this for a friend who I'm trying to get to sign up for Iowa Whitetail. Sunday night his daughter killed this 173" green score, 157" net score buck in the Dayton area. Going up to see it on Saturday and give her a big high five. I love it when the adults let their kids shoot the biggest...

    Possible new Wisconsin Archery record

Looks like he either owns or is at an archery shop. Could have taken his gear home and wanted one in the pic, so they just grabbed one off the shelf.

    Central Iowa lockers?

If you are ok driving to Pella, Ulrichs Meat Mart has always been good to us. I recommend their spicy sticks over their non-spicy for flavor's sake. I'm also not a fan of their brats. Really salty. Besides that, everything else is good, and they normally can get you the steaks and roasts back...

    Youth Season

Yeah , my problem was that I took him out at 3 because I had some unusual afternoon movement with deer on the camera. Luckily I told him to bring a book with him. Well, he read that from beginning to end in about an hour. So he was getting a little bored. Apparently touch is important to him, so...

    Youth Season

I am sitting in my blind right now with my 9 year old nephew, Caedmon. Holy crap, 9 year olds do not know how to sit still and quiet! He's currently entertaining himself with his gloves. Wouldn't trade this for the world though. Well, maybe for a nice sit in a Turkish bath in Istanbul, Turkey...

    Numero Uno

I suppose we could all bomb his Facebook page with links to these articles from the past few days. Might help get the word out some.

Got any closer pictures of the stud walking away in picture 6? That thing looks big.

    Box frame 10

Hardly any deductions on that one. That will score nice. Good luck with stickin' him.

    Guess I'll start it....

What do the Hawkeyes and a puppy have in common? Eventually the puppy will stop whining.

    Guess I'll start it....

What is the one think Hawkeye and Cyclone fans have in common? Neither one of them went to the University of Iowa.

"if i don't shoot him - someone else will - so i better shoot him"

I hunt for the memories made with those I love, and those made simply enjoying what my Creator has made for us all to enjoy. I truly think that God is disappointed in the god that we have made hunting to be. We've been given authority over creation to subdue it, but ultimately, to enjoy it and...

    Mock Rub and Scrape

So I've never made one of these before. What do you think? Just cut down a cedar and put it in front of my trail camera in a big clearing in a group of cedars. Any feedback is welcome.

    Treestands on state ground

So just bring your own clip on ladders and use the stands. I've seen some on super crazy far in places on state land. If someone wants to just leave it hanging, then use it. That's my opinion anyway.

Notice anything weird about this fawn?

Come on. If they are both does, we know they'd still be fighting each other.

Notice anything weird about this fawn?

Would definitely go on my wall if I shot that thing.

    What will he score?

I think the way his butt is sticking out takes away from the size he really is. I'd say 165" easily. ;)

    4x4 Rubbing Post

Just wondering if I can go to the lumber yard and just buy a 4x4 wood post to use as a rubbing post. If so, what do I need to do in order to get it ready for a buck to shred it? Any scents I need to put on it? Any other recommendations for a cheaper long term rubbing post?
