    Moultrie 555i

Just got a Moutrie 555i. Excited to get it out there and see what comes knocking this year. Can anyone tell me what the battery life is on this camera running only photos? I had some poor luck with batteries not even lasting a week, two max, on my two Wildview trail cams last year. Wondering if...

No more "Mystery" he is a 12 & updated growth on others

If you think about it though, a 1/4 mile really isn't that far away. I wouldn't worry about it too much. But if you are in an area where he stands a good chance of making it through the season not getting shot by your family or neighbors, I'd let the 12 walk. He's got good size, but he doesn't...

    Just a couple babies.... (pics)

Pretty sure the DNR could still come at you for hunting over minerals since there is a lot of residual minerals washed off into the soil. I've see holes chewed out from deer eating the dirt where a mineral block was sitting. You might want to check on that.

Anyone want to go Barred Owl Hunting?

I have called in more than one while turkey hunting, using only my own vocal chords. If someone paid the way, I definitely do it.

    7/14 Card Pull and Questions

You should move your camera so it faces north or south. You'll get clearer and brighter photos as the sun won't be your backdrop.

Immature coyote or grey fox, I'd say.

    Morels

Found nothing but a handful of false morels today around Boone. Spend over two hours looking, and found nothing. I'm baffled. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

    Morels

Yep, I went to the Ledges where I found some last year and found nothing. I'm ether headed out tomorrow night or Wednesday night. They should be popping by Wednesday for sure.

    Morels

Anybody in the Boone area finding any morels? Went out today and found nothing. Hoping either Monday or Wednesday is the day they blow up.

    Looking for some Largemouth

I've heard Big Creek is good, and has some good fish in it. Most of the spots I've seen while being on a boat look to be on the west and north sides where lake access isn't as accessible by foot.

Did anyone go out this morning??

NE Iowa. Friend and I both shot birds today. They weren't coming to our hen call, and we saw a group walk away from us down into a valley. After about 20 minutes I told my friend to grab his Gobble call, and gobble after each of my runs. Did that three times, and 10 minutes later we had 5 Jakes...

    Shrooms

Anyone finding any today. I'm going out this afternoon to call in some toms, and will be looking. Headed to northeast Iowa for fourth season next weekend, and am really hoping my honey hole up there is loaded. Found some 8-10" yellows last year all in one bunch.

    Morels

Even with warm weather last year, it wasn't until the middle of April in Central Iowa that they started to take off. With the lack of warmth this year so far, I think beginning of fourth Turkey season might be prime.
