    Disc versus pto tiller

Thanks, good to hear it has worked for you Daver, especially considering how dry your area has been. Good feedback.

    Disc versus pto tiller

Great info Sligh. I'm trying to justify why I need to spend big money on a drill and I'm doing a pretty good job of it so far!! HA! Grant Woods claims he doesn't need as much or any fertizlizer with after a few years of his Buffalo System. Do you find the same type of improvents in your...

    Disc versus pto tiller

I agree, but damn are they spendy and I have a small tractor and limited acreage that I plant. That said, I'm trying to justify the cost as I type. Lot of money for these deers, LOL.

    Disc versus pto tiller

I was asking more about the effect on the soil between the two. Lots of talk about how working the soil is detrimental to it's health. Anyone having success with throw and mow in Southern IA/Norther MO? I like the concept but it's so damn dry down there it would likely be a recipe for failure.

    Disc versus pto tiller

I know the best case scenario is some kind of no-till planting but is there any real difference to soil health between running a disc versus tilling just the top couple inches of soil?

    Nancy Kerrigan comes home

Interesting, I almost used exact same combo on my last buck but in the end went with OTS's wall pedestal.

    Brassicas

I'm glad I read this info, thanks for posting! I believe the guy that is spraying for me is using Liberty and I was planning on brassicas 7-10 days after he sprays.

NR DEER LICENSE - INCREASE $

Is there a down vote button on here, LOL!!!! There were NR Landowner tags when I bought in MO. Fees went from $75 for a bow tag to $225 when they shitcanned the NR tag and rifle went up the same. And most laughable is turkey went to $190. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

    2018 - 19 season perspectives

My take aways. 1. Weather was a battle for food plotting.......yet again. Grew some good brassicas but not enough acreage to get through to late seaosn. Fall plantings were a bust due to too much rain of all things. 2. Brother killed a nice early season buck that we passed up 7 or 8 times...

    Early shed season

A buddy of mine in North MO has 3 or 4 bucks on his 120 that have already shed. Weird!

“Bullet Hole Buck” 2 to 3 & recovery pics...

I just pulled cards and my #1 target buck walked by cam at noon on opening day of gun season sporting a wound. He had a pouch hanging down from his paunch that clearly showed some blood. He was healthy on 11/8 when he went by the same cam so I'm certain it was a gunshot. Hopefully he's a...

    Looking for a new Broadhead...

Edge retention is something that is overlooked IMO. Some heads lose their edge on hide and hair on impact and lose their ability to cut. I was rarely impressed with the bloodtrails when I shot Slick Tricks and they always seemed dull after going through game. I did some research last year...

    Targeting 5 year old bucks

Thanks for the responses guys. Seems the prime days are specific to individual farms. I reviewed scouting pics from 2014-2017 for 4.5 year old plus deer (not enough 5 year olds in MO) and one farm seems to slow down around 11/6 or so pretty consistently while the other still shows good...
