The cut rifled Brux barrels are the best I sell, but these Preferred select grade barrels have been shooting right with them. So really, they're all good. With this sale, you're saving $320 compared to a Brux with the ASG Gen2, so it's pretty hard to beat this option.
Running a little sale through tomorrow on one model of my smokeless encore barrels. Good chance to upgrade if you've been thinking about it.

Just a reminder, if you're looking to learn more about high performance muzzle loading. Stop out at the brownells range (AKA Big Springs) on 9/1.

FYI....
I'm running a sale. Free install (total cost of $225, regularly $300) on the 700UML Upgrade to my Gen2 BP system. If you've got a burnt out plug, one of the many (about 30%) guns that weren't head spaced correct from the factory, or want to run heavy doses of BH209, this is for...
Lots of good suggestions in above posts.
The main ones I would have hit on were covered (barrel heat, mag primers, fit to bore). I'd also add that the BarnesTMZ with boattail are one of the least forgiving combos out there.
If you pick up a cheap encore frame, you can get into my budget...
Good questions....Accuracy to 300 yards and effective deer killing or two totally different things. These encores are running 2500 fps with a 300gr bullet. You're probably getting 2100 fps if that. These encores will shoot groups at 400-500 yards, but energy would be falling off to what...
Most of the guns I put together are 45cal like Skip's. No sabot. We don't run these encore builds as hard a the bolt gun builds, but they're legit 300 yard guns. The bolt gun builds can be stretched further, but conditions do need to be good. And of course, shooter needs to put in the...
It's plenty hot here too. But I haven't broke down and put AC in the garage yet. Garage opens to west though, so I've been chased inside mid afternoon a few days when the sun really starts to warm things up.
What bullet are you shooting now? My vote would be for the Barnes as well. I would go 290 or 300gr. I sell sample packs of different ML bullets if you want to find out what your gun likes.

Here's a gun that I just got wrapped up for a member here. We'll see if he claims it. :)
Range is Ben Avery. It's on the north side of phoenix. It's huge. I think like 100 benches on the 100/200 yard range and usually pretty full. But it's run very well. Shoot 15 minutes, then...
Good to see I'm not the only one that lost out. I had a bunch of customers contacting me for ML's, so sometimes it feels like everyone else drew. Misery loves company.
I put in for NM elk, sheep, and oryx. I think I should find out next week. I'm going to put in for a AZ coues hunt I think (will be a NR since won't satisfy the residency requirements yet). Probably won't hunt Iowa this year. :(
