Late muzzle loader starts the day after 2nd shotgun season, which is usually around the 18th of December, and runs till January 10. There are still gun tags available for zone 2. Just go online to Iowa dnr and purchase the gun tag.
Since my dad and I have made it a running tradition for him to come to Iowa shotgun season and hunt with me, I just as well get me a shotgun set up to hunt with.
