    BH 209 issue

Cant say what the advantages of 777 is over pyrodex, but the reason I switched to BH209 from pellets was more freedom to experiment with different loads, better accuracy shot after shot without swabbing (probably the main reason), and easier to push the bullets down the barrel since the barrel...

    Teach me about scope rings/mounts.

Thank you for your help and advice. Don't really see much need for a quick release, as I doubt I will take the scope off. Are the quick release ones really that accurate that they can be taken off and then put back on and expect the same accuracy? Would bases like this work just fine...

    Teach me about scope rings/mounts.

Haven't decided on the scope just yet, but leaning toward the Burris C4 4.5-14x. Mounting it on a Remington Model 700 Ultimate Muzzleloader.

    Teach me about scope rings/mounts.

I'll be in the market for new scope mounts/rings in the near future. Suggestions? Whats the difference between $20 rings and $50+ rings? Low, Medium, or High? 1-piece base or 2-piece base? Does it matter? (bolt action gun)

    Boots for shed hunting scouting

Bought a pair of Cabelas Ultralight by Meindl 2 years ago. Absolutely most comfortable boots I've ever worn from the second I put them on. I haven't put hundreds of miles on them or anything yet, but they seem to be holding up pretty well.

    BH 209 issue

I switched to using Butch's Bore Shine this past season for my BH209, and I like it WAY more than Hoppes. It cleans up the breech plug much easier, and gets the barrel cleaner as well. Caution though, the stuff is potent!

    Which muzzleloader scope?

And while we're on the subject, which mounts/rings does everyone suggest? Is there a big difference between $20 mounts and $50+?

    Which muzzleloader scope?

Yeah I know the Leupold VX-3 is a very proven scope, and I dont mind spending the extra money if I know its going to be $250+ better, but I definitely don't want to spend unnecessary money if I don't have to and get get a great quality scope for cheaper. I'm also not spending $1,000+ on a...

    Which muzzleloader scope?

That scope definitely has my eye... No complaints? Not much experience with Burris, so I don't know much about their optics, build quality, etc..

    Which muzzleloader scope?

Thats the scope I'm using right now. Never really thought it was that great of a scope. Maybe my thinking is wrong?

    Bullet Choice

Late to the party here, but I will echo what everyone else is saying and recommend Blackhorn 209 and Barnes TEZ 290 grain bullets. Fly great, mushroom nicely, and leave better blood trails than pretty much any other muzzleloader bullets I've tried.

    Which muzzleloader scope?

Looking at upgrading my muzzleloader next season, and also need a new scope for it. Right now, I use a Bushnell Trophy XLT that costs about $80, so I would definitely like a higher quality scope on my new gun, as I feel like thats probably my weakest point in my setup right now. I would like...

    Video Cameras

I have a Canon HF10, and its nothing fancy, but takes great video. I don't get the zoom capabilities, low light performance, etc that maybe some of the higher end ones get, but it has always served me well and its small enough that it fits in my waist pack. I have always been partial to Canon...
