FWIW, in the past 2 yrs, i've shot 2 nice bucks after changing my stand during the season after my first spot disappointed. I do try to move during mid day though

Trying something a little different this year. Instead of a whole Mon-Fri off, i'm gonna do Tues-Thurs for 2 weeks: Nov 6-8 and 13-15. This way, if weather or movement is bad, at least i'll have a second week. Plus then i'll have a break from waking up at 4am

I've hunted Neil Smith Wildlife Refuge just east of Des Moines in Jasper County. A lot of it is prairie, but there are also some woodlots between farms. I saw a good number of deer and a few nice bucks as well.

There is also a free app called Tracks if you are looking for something to trace your steps. You can even export your data to your computer

Google maps on my Android gets me within a couple meters. I can mark trees and find them pretty easily. Also works good for tracking
