    Lest we forget...

Not every buck in Iowa is 200+, but that doesn't mean you can't be happy with it. This is my first deer with the muzzy, and a public land buck to boot. Funny thing is that after scouting all winter, running cameras all summer, and hanging stands a few weeks ago, this was the first time I'd...

    Seat cover recomendations

Lyon beat me to it. I have the seat covers from Duluth Trading Co and I've been happy with them. Canvas material, they stay put. Easy to wash if need be.

Which TC Muzzleloader should I choose

Love my TC triumph. Don't bother with the Bone Collector. Got a spin jag and some Blackhorn and some Barnes T-EZ sabots and I'm good to go!

    Muddy Stick users

I have the LW steps, and I agree, gotta tighten the bolts every once in awhile, and absolutely yes, for a fella in the 250 lb range, the individual steps at the bolts start to wear down. I've had mine fr 4 or 5 years and they are starting to wear down. Regardless of your equipment, always check...

    What dates for vacation?

Trying something a little different this year. Instead of a whole Mon-Fri off, i'm gonna do Tues-Thurs for 2 weeks: Nov 6-8 and 13-15. This way, if weather or movement is bad, at least i'll have a second week. Plus then i'll have a break from waking up at 4am

    Southeast Iowa crops

Paper said 80% of the corn is out. I hope the rest of it comes out soon. My muzzleloader spot kinda depends on it

What the heck is this noise??

I normally don't bow hunt so early in the season, but I had the itch and a free weekend, so I sat the last couple of nights. Didn't end up seeing much of anything other than a few does, but it was nice to be in the tree. What I'm curious about is this sound/noise I kept hearing for for most...

    Deer hunting property Polk county

I've hunted Neil Smith Wildlife Refuge just east of Des Moines in Jasper County. A lot of it is prairie, but there are also some woodlots between farms. I saw a good number of deer and a few nice bucks as well.

Is there a good APP for marking locations?

There is also a free app called Tracks if you are looking for something to trace your steps. You can even export your data to your computer

Is there a good APP for marking locations?

Google maps on my Android gets me within a couple meters. I can mark trees and find them pretty easily. Also works good for tracking
