    MFR and Honey Suckle removal

Could you imagine?! If i attempt this, I’m going to need the blood bank on speed dial. Many good men have been lost trying to basal bark treat a MFR bush!

    Chainsaw Advice

No experience with the electronically carbureted saws. Im sure they’re nice, until they need some work and you have to find a dealer with the tools necessary to fix them. I know a little bit about small engines and take a lot of pride in being able to fix my own stuff when it acts up. Not being...

What about .45 and greater caliber air guns for whitetail deer?

No, we already have plenty of effective weapons. However, will you support amendment 69696969 which states that I, and I alone can shoot deer with my a rifle of my choosing with aid of a thermal scope, on any property I so choose. I also am awarded the governors “super” tag, which entitles me...

    Chainsaw Advice

When I was a tree trimmer, the saw we used most was the 362. I own one, I love it! Great all around saw.

    Gray fox

I found one dead on the road in central Iowa 6 or 7 years ago. It was wide open ground, I always thought they preferred brushy habitat. I have it tanned and on my wall.

    Trapping 2023-2024

I agree Skip. Unfortunately, with Iowa coyotes selling for a crisp $5 bill it’s hard to justify it as a trapper, especially with high gas prices. I’ll drive to catch some $20 beavers, but I’m a WAY more effective beaver trapper, and they’re generally easy to catch.

    Disappointing Iowa Gun opener

The republicans are beholden to the Farm Bureau, who want all deer killed. Look at all the current republicans have done or tried to do to screw outdoorsmen. They’ve even gone as far as trying to make it illegal to purchase more public ground. I’m not a fan of the democrats, but at the state...

    Disappointing Iowa Gun opener

It was poor for us too. Saw 2 deer on the farm. Hard to imagine 130 acres in southern iowa, managed for deer, only had 2 on it. Did a push on the neighbors pasture with a ditch, kicked out 6 or 7. It was a bummer of a weekend for sure.

    The Junker Buck

Also, that was a joke. Curtis is sitting next to me, and I’m just having a little fun. Great deer by an even better guy!

    The Junker Buck

Should’ve let him go another year!!! Hard to kill giants, when you shoot them when they’re little!

No Doe shooting for ME…. U guys down?

I’d like to just shoot “a deer” at this point. My season has been disappointing. Haven’t been able to go much, and when I’ve had time, other commitments have come up, or me, my wife, or my daughter has gotten sick.

Hunter Internet comments that drive me INSANE!!!!

It sucks, I completely understand. I’ve dealt with this situation before. Sorry if I came off as confrontational. In my opinion, you have two options at this point. 1. Call the law and have it documented. 2. The dog disappears

Hunter Internet comments that drive me INSANE!!!!

Considering the name of this thread, and the fact that I’m a trapper, I sure hope you’re not going on a mission to trap the neighbor’s dog. People tend to think poorly of trapping for various reasons, and things like this don’t help at all. There are so many other options.

    Trapping 2023-2024

Skunks are one of the more valued furs currently. The wider the stripes, the more valuable.

    Trapping 2023-2024

24 hours on most sets. Drowning sets can have an extended check, I do every other day on my beaver sets.

    Trapping 2023-2024

Caught a giant beav today. Haven’t weighed it yet, but it feels heavier than the 55 lb one I caught the other day. Also, I’m 6’5” for some scale. Update, the big bastard weighed 62 lbs.

    For fun

Here’s a big 6 I shot in 2014. Wish I would’ve aged him. We guessed at least 4.5. I was super proud of him, not many 6’s gross 118”.
