One thing that I love about IW, is that the people on here seem to be legitimately decent folks. I’m a part of a trapping forum, and things there seem to devolve into a pissing match a lot. That doesn’t seem to happen here and I really appreciate that.

My son got a feeder for his birthday last year. We put it out after season ends…it’s programmable. Don’t know if it really helps them much, but it gives us some nice pics and we get an inventory of some of the deer for next year.
Otters swim so damn fast! I’ve never seen one not suitcased in a conibear. Almost every beaver I catch is perfect, right behind the head. I’m glad to catch them in conibears….they are insane in a foot trap if they’re not drowned.
Caught otter number 2 on the season today. Pretty excited as I’ve only caught them in eastern iowa before, these are the first two I’ve gotten in Greene county.
If I didn’t have a 3 year old daughter and a full time job, I’d trap like crazy and hunt them harder. But alas, I’m stuck working with Curtis. Which I suppose is an ok secondary prize.
You have good points skip. If there was a fur market at all, it would help a lot! I don’t necessarily want the market to explode, but an uptick would be nice. When the market is good, a lot of idiots come out of nowhere, and dudes like me who trap regardless of the market, have lots of gear...
