    Apple/Pear Trees

I have a strategic east/west running field edge that I plan to plant approximately 20 fruit trees down this coming spring. It is great soil and well drained. Personally I've had tremendous luck with pears vs apples. Apples (Liberty, enterprise, AR Black) have done OK for me, but the pears...

    Food plot burndown help

As Skip said, need to add 24-D or something like it along with your gly to kill the resistant stuff. Including ANS and surfactant in your tank will help your cocktail work better too. Very common misconception that gly just kills everything. Maybe in some parts of the country, but at some...

    Broadcasting oats on slope

Rye will do better in this application and keep the weeds down a little better as well. Cheaper too! Oats will work but freeze out mostly depending on your area. Not sure what your long term plan is though...

    Clover

You planted this, this spring ahead of this fall's brassicas which is ideal. I haven't done that, but will be trying it this coming spring. My Question - if I include crimson heavy with this fall's brassica planting, will the crimson that carries over to spring/summer '25 work the same way...

    Artifact hunting

My brother and I bought a small farm with a little "seasonal" crick that runs through it and have now found 8 no doubters over the last two years. A few more that seemed "worked" but not certain. The crazy thing is all have come from a 50yd x 50yd area. We've grid searched it several times...

    Clover

What do you burn it down with before your fall planting? Do you find crimson easier to kill than other clovers? Some of them can be tough!

    Acorns to Oaks!

I've done this exact thing in tubs with the cone-tainers and for most oaks it is the best way hands down. That said, seems like chestnuts dont respond well to it. Interested to hear how it works for you!

    Interseeding into forage sorghum

Planted several areas of it this year for the first time mainly with pheasants in mind, but curious how the deer will react to it. I know for certain none of them have ever seen it in their lives, so not sure what to expect

    Switchgrass

Just walk away - you did your prep well and it looks decent. PATIENCE

    Now what?

Maybe I missed it - but are you wanting to keep the clover or till it under in August for brassicas?

    Iowa Cell Camera rules

100% - The older K's & J's that "click" when the filter drops for the first black and white photo of the evening is taken. Have seen deer come unglued from that little noise and walk around that location from there on out. Still use them but definitely dont place near stands.

    CRP Design Question

Might want another wind break on the south end of the west field. Depending on the topography, any car headed northbound on that road will be able to see in on it all when the south corn isn't up. Did you just draw that all out on Microsoft Word? Looks nice!

    Everything Soybeans

Skip's recent social post addressed soybeans and some things that might cause deer to prefer one variety over another. Would bet vast majority of people don't even realize that there are many options when it comes to soybeans. I love hearing & learning what observations guys have seen over...
