Got 1 fixed today I think, reformatted and kept resetting until it said 1200 for time. Reset up and it saved pics in the house. Not really sure what I did but hope it fixed it

    Apple/Pear Trees

I was told not to mulch as it gives mice/voles spot to hide. Sand or crushed rock around tree may work well

    What to plant

I'll agree with above, if you have corn or beans when it gets real chilly, you'll have deer. I have a smorgasbord planted behind house. Brassicas, clover, alfalfa, winter wheat, rye, sorghum, and corn and beans always draw them in.

Would you still bother to hand stands this late in the summer?

It all depends on what they are used too. One place I hunt the land owner is always driving his utv around. I just carry stands on utv, never had issues. No different than checking cameras. If rain coming and I have time I'll change cards ever two weeks or less. Never been issue. If I kick up a...

    Skip, you have followers

These proposed new regulations are just an yearly permission to shoot deer on sight. This would eliminate the deer herd in those areas. I think the depredation system needs eliminated or greatly modified anyhow. The system is mostly used by hunters who have food plots trying to attract deer, but...

    Land

I want to buy land, only own acreage now. Thought I had a perfect 160 worked out with help, but developer blew $ up. Been a year and I still think about what could have been. It's all about timing. If you find something you really want, spend what you can, unless you plan to resell it

    Rifle Season

I heard it from the landowner where I hunt. He talks to a DNR biologist quite often. He was told it's coming back in 2016, not sure if that means this winter or next. I personally would like it back, strictly to assist with doe management, I also see why people are opposed to it. Maybe move it...

    Rifle Season

    Buddy Heaters in enclosed blinds?

My buddy heater has a shut off. Thought it was for carbon monoxide? Maybe it's low oxygen? In my homemade tower blind, I can't run both burners or it will shut down. Blind isn't well sealed in my opinion. Guessing no way it will run in new blind I built. That's very welled sealed, but also why I...

    Tractors

I think a skid loader is what I'm gonna buy. Can do all I need a tractor to do plus more. If set on tractor I agree buy bigger than you need. Mfwd and loader would be worth investment. As for which is better? Family farms with John Deere. I will say they are expensive and as for superior parts...

    Treestand deals

Never bought a lone wolf and after using one while bear hunting, I won't buy one. It was a hang on stand, did like the bow holder in the platform, but I'd rather sit on my cheapest stand with my seat pad

    Land Value Question

My family farms in Carroll County. Rate all depends on quality of land. There is some that rents for $175/acre all the way to $500+

    Turkey Population

I understand that but the ratio is minimum 20 hens to 1 male. When you get a Tom fired up and coming the hens come get him. Guess it's the way nature intended but makes hunting rather hard, lol
