I've failed big time on making new resolutions. I no longer make them. If I do, it's spur of the moment. Those pan out WAY better.

For many years, first 2 weeks of Nov. Getting older/ wimpier. Gonna start focusing on last 2 weeks of October.

Yesterday while coyote hunting, I seen many deer. Roughly 35 bucks with full head gear. A couple with one side and a couple shed bucks.

Very windy but warm (32*). I love hunting super thick cover when windy. Dove into a buckthorn thicket and didn't take long. Goal was to shoot the first antlerless that came. by. Yearling doe. Good eater. 12 yards shot, high double lung, 40 yard run.

Now that I know there are WAY to many deer around me, I may pop in a stand today and zap a doe. Haven't sat in a stand since Halloween and am having withdrawals.

Haven't seen any yet(that I know of) but have dragged several Christmas day bucks out of the woods over the years and have one or both antlers pop off.

Up untill about 15 years ago, our " many" riverbottoms were so orange it was blinding. Nowadays, I can drive MILES and not see a speck. Opening day used to sound like WW2. Doubt I heard 25 shots throughout the whole season this year. I did not see one youngster out hunting. (Disturbing)...

While calling coyotes out west, I've had mulie does damn near stomp me while playing fawn distress.

X2 true! Both elm and boxelder throw stump sprouts like a mofo. Deer candy. Maybe not mature bucks, but... Deer in general will gravitate to most (new) disturbances in their core area. An ice storm that brings down even small branches can become a magnet. Good topic Daver.
