As long as there's good thermal cover in locations they can get out of the strong winds they will bed. I like young cedar and hemlock thickets with brush and weeds around it as well.

Congrats on an outstanding buck! I grazed a tree, not that much, twice in my hunting career. Got one on a second shot but the other ran onto another property and was killed. It helps when they are focused on a hot doe, they get stupid. Tank!!!
